Poured dark brown with a thin tan head. Zesty aroma of sweet roast malt and coffee. Full creamy body, flavour of dark chocolate, coffee, dried fruit and some nuttiness. Medium-sweet, dry aftertaste.

Bottle from Sugaya. It pours a rich ruby brown that looks somewhat stout like in the glass butappearance wise I’d say is closer to a Belgian dark ale like a Rochefort 8 or 10. The nose is soft chocolate & toffee with a citrusy hop presence - pretty good. The beer has a medium body & a somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. The taste is quite good, roasty, cacao paste, figs, bitter coffee grinds & playing with these malt flavors are some candy sweetness & citrusy hops. Pretty good but Belgians do it better.

This dark chocolate colored beer pours a thick tan head that lingers. It has a nutty aroma with a hint of burnt sugar. The taste is reminiscent of the same and with the rich malted barley and high IBU from the dry hops it is nutty, sweet, and bitter all at once. The alcohol is high enough that it really becomes prominent as the beer comes to room temperature, so drink this one quickly.

Clear medium rubyish brown. Large frothy creamy tan head, partly lasting. Aroma is quite malty. Burnt roasty malty. Molasses. Nutty. Chocolate. Caramel. Coffee. Flavor is dusty cocoa mostly. Earthy hops. Medium body. Dry. Medium creamy. Lightly acidic. Mild bitterness. Roasty dry finish. Complex and still easy drinking. Puts the typical brown ale to shame.

Pint glass, brown with a finger tan head. Smells like molasses, caramel, and brown sugar. Tastes like roast nuts, molasses, and nice caramel malt. Oily, medium mouthfeel. Pretty tasty! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Another winner from Dogfish Head. Dark brown in color. The hops play off nicely with the caramel. Not over hopped.

Shared bottles over the course of month during a beer march madness bracket style tournament held by Louisville Dads Beer Club, this style buster came in 3rd of 32 beers with its hoppy aroma, beautiful color, vanilla molasses tobacco vanilla tastes and pleasant finish...as this was a secret competition, we were surprised when this was in the final 4! Well deserved...
