dark brown color with hints of red, a light creamy head – brussels lace, an excellent malty aroma – caramel and brown-sugar as well, lightly hoppy, a touch of alcohol; strong roasted malt flavor, definite hop presence though not overwhelming, caramel, a touch of bitterness and alcohol, nice rich texture

Loved it. Cola colour, off white head reluctantly coaxed out from the low carbonation. Aroma of toffee, coffee, muscovado sugar. Flavours of toasty, caramelised.. Something. Hops are in there, as is bitterness but not certain what or how much.

Bottle. Brown with medium tan head. Aroma of caramelized sugar, malt, and some hops. Medium/heavy body, heavy caramelized sugar sweetness upfront, moderate hop bitterness, raisins, some boozy notes, and a slight oily finish. Not my favorite offering.

dark smells that are very subtle like coffee and chocolate, dark, can’t see through in pint glass, medium strong flavor of roasted malts, little chocolate....finishes stronger of coffee, can’ t taste the hops as much as I thought I would...good but nothing stands out as being wonderfully impressive...

12 oz bottle. Aroma: malty, with leather, toffee, and cherry. Taste/Palate: starts crisp, thick, and sweet, and finishes crisp, bitter, and slightly astringent. One of the best beers to come from Dogfish, IMO. Fantastic!

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Color is a beautiful dark chestnut brown. Aroma is boozy at first. Taste is sweet, notes of molasses, brown sugar and Cap’n Crunch cereal (yellow box). Overall a really great beer!

Bottle. Brown pour with a light khaki head. Aroma has notes of brown sugar with nice earthy hops. Flavor is a great balance between hops and malts. Notes of floral hops with dried raisins and toasted sugar. Perfectly balanced. Very cool concept and very well done. Tasty.
