4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aromas of caramel, raw maple, milk chocolate, earthy hops, coffee. Clear, dark ruby-brown with a fully lasting beige head. Off-dry, maltiness upfront, savory, earthy nutty flavors, finishes with well-balanced hops. Medium bodied, with cleansing carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark body, thin tan head. Very sweet aroma with raisins and molasses. Mouthfeel is really smooth. Taste is a bit hollow and there’s not much else besides a slightly bitter IPA aftertaste. It’s very drinkable though but probably better paired with some food. By itself it’s a bit of a letdown for me.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from saveur-biere.com. Dark copper to brown body, with a big, creamy, beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, nuts, caramel, roast, dark berries, citrus, some pine. Taste with about the same aromas, great balance between roasty, sweet, fruity and bitter citric notes and very smooth! Mouthfeel is medium to full, creamy, with a medium carbonation and it finishes roasty, bitter, with dark malt and citric hop notes. Tasty! A really unique brown ale, that also resembles a Black IPA a bit, because of the greatly balanced roast and citrus notes. Very smooth to drink.

Pours a dark brown with a nice creamy head. Aroma is sugar, malts, and some hops. Flavor is a nice malty roasted sweet flavor with lots of coffee and some hops too. Creamy kind of like a nitro beer. Awesome awesome balance. Really good, this. Similar to a black ipa.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reviewed from notes.
I’ve had this in pint glasses and a couple times in tulips. It’s always the same.
The appearance was a nice dark brown color with a decent one finger white foamy head that dissipates within about a minute and left some light semi - thick lacing in its wake.
The smell was awesome as it had a super nice allocation of the Scottish peat - like smokey/roasty malts to the engraving bittersweet citrus hops to delightfully entice my nose to partake in more whiffs to get some light roasty caramel nuttiness about it.
The taste replicates the smell pretty much exactly the same.
On the palate, this one sits about a medium. The carbonation seems appropriately made for the style and shows a decent smoothness about it.
Overall, what an absolutely amazing beer - three styles in one and we’ll done. Makes me want to move back East.
