This is actually one of my favorite Dogfish Head beers. It has the most perfect hops you can use with a roasted malt flavor. The bitterness of the roasted chocolate like malt with the earthy different hop strains makes this beer fantastic. It also has a creaminess to it which I’m guessing is the Scotch ale quality of it. This is almost as hopped us as the 60 and 90 but just minus that citrus hop which I think wouldn’t make this beer as unique. Amazing beer A plus

Yeoooowzerssss!!!!!! ooohooo. the kick ass brown ale on the block. luscious thick creamy head, rich aroma, thick clingy lace. This is THE brown ale. Englishmen, y’all’ve been served notice. This is the best brown I’ve ever had. gawd. flirts with porter, but maintains the brown identitiy. killer. Had this one on draft at Bodega, and I think they have it in bottles too. However last time I had it in a bottle it was really nothing like this.....

Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale is a clear, dark, sparkling brown with a dense, bubbly khaki head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a roasty aroma with notes of coffee, chocolate, caramel, grass and herbs. It’s medium bodied, soft and smooth, with a crisp, dry finish. It has a full roasted flavor; a touch of syrupy sweetness and an herbal, grassy bitterness. There is coffee and dark chocolate at the finish. It’s superbly balanced. This is flawless and delicious!

Very good brown ale. More like strong american brown than anything else. I love the carmelized flavor and the hop presence.

Pours deep mahogany with a large, fluffy tan head. Smells like caramel and other malts and hoppiness and a bit of what could be coffee. Tastes like brown sugar, molasses, coffee, hints of chocolate and roastiness, and some bitterness aside from coffee. Full-bodied with a slightly sticky texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale finishes with a coffee or chocolate dryness.

I am a Brown fan, and this is simply the best i have had. A bitterness was quickly overtaken by a medium sweetness which allowed the finish of the beer to be as enjoyable as a wicked cool lady gettting trapped in an elevator with you.

As some of you know from my other ratings, Dogfish is one of my favorite breweries in America. This beer is just another reason why I delight in their experimentation, even if it is just a brown ale. The aroma is outstanding, with key smell notes of brown sugar and smaller notes of caramel being noticeable. The taste is absolutely fantastic! You will get a nice taste of brown sugar, light sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, and umami.

Bottle. Simply the best dark ale I’ve ever imbibed. The caramel/brown sugar taste blends seamlessly with the burnt flavor. The carbonation is very present and adds a pungency that drives the entire taste home. Forms a thin, light brown head - the first I’ve ever seen from a dark ale. Goes down effortlessly and enjoyably.
Found it at Greens Liquors in Atlanta.

bottle. pours beautiful dark brown with large caramel head. Malts of brown sugar, coffee, roasted nuts, toffee. just perfectly delicious. This might be my favorite. Not as complex as the raison d’ etre.
