kassner (115), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2008 Had this beer on Tap at Sharp Edge. Dark amber, with nice tan head, and lacing. carbonation just right for me.. nutty sweet start, warming with some chocolate hints and astringent rubbery bitterness on finish. RaginCajun (242), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 21, 2008 Dark brown body with a small head. Malty aroma w/ hints of chocolate, and coffee. Nose is similar to the aroma, very sugary/malty with chocolate overtones. Nice hop kick at the end. This is a great beer that is full of flavor and well balanced. One of my favorites. Naka (375), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours a very dark reddish brown color with a thick 3 finger foamy medium beige head. A little bit of lacing as it goes down. Aroma of sweet caramel, floral and pine hops, and a touch of molasses. The flavor is a roasty molasses flavor. Sweet creamy coffee notes with chocolate and a nice flowery bitterness in the end. A rich oily body that leaves a nice roasted bitterness on the tongue. The perfect balance between roasted flavors and hops. Pershing (12), Garland, TX, Texas, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours Dark Brown with a huge frothy head with peaks and valleys. smells sweet with a strong malt taste. The large hop additions are needed for this beer. euserphriendly (152), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 20, 2008 At the brewpub in Rehobeth. Dark and dense with a small head. Good balance between hops and the sweetness of the brown sugar. Slight taste of alcohol lets you know there is some substance here.
