Birch syrup and cranberries in the aroma. Amber colored beer with a thick long sustaining white head with small bubbles. Flavor includes a slight pleasant fruit tartness. A noticeable bitterness on the end. No hops present. Mouthfeel is medium body. Overall, an interesting beer. Seems like a good beer to drink on a hot summer day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bier Abby, Schenectady, NY APPEARANCE - vibrant burnt amber color, very clear. NOSE - Light undistinguishable fruity notes. Hint of the 10.0% ABV. FLAVOR ? Extremely light flavor. Almost tastes like a super light barleywine. But that could be the alcohol in it accompanied by quite a bit of lighter flavored fruits. Complete lack of hops. NOTES - Definitely another interesting recreation from DFH. I thoroughly enjoy it, and think it would be a great session drinker if not for 10% ABV.

Poured from a large bottle, gift from my neighbor. Appearance is a copper color and a cloudy consistency. Aroma is fruity (hello cranberries), honey, and malt. Taste is cranberries, syrupy, honey, herbs and malt. Palate is good amount of carbonation. Light-bodied. Pretty damn good, but for special occasions or the right food.

Bottle from Total Wine. Over a year of aging. Pours a reddish brown with a fluffy head. Aroma is tart cranberry, ligonberry, spices, and cherries. The taste is similar with cranberries, spices, and tart cherries. Medium mouth, delicate tart finish. Moderate carbonation.

Reddish orange color with a foamy ivory head. Berry nose with a bit of tart cranberry. This is a berry forward beer with identifiable cranberry juice taste and something that I will assume is a lingonberry. Honey and white sugar sweetness with a bit of a tart pinch in the finish. Pretty tasty.

Sloe, concord grape. Cloudy copper, thin head. Vinous apricot, cranberries, grapes.Medium body, soft carbonation, warm. Surprisingly not a lot of nuance. Weird and very grapey, not bad.

A semi-transparent brownish-amber color with minimal head. A fruity (cranberry? cherry?) aroma. VERY fruity flavor, kind of lambic like. A nice aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Strange, as one would expect from something pulled out of a chemical sample of a clay pot from a few millennia back. Exotic berry aromas are big here, and honey and syrup add a viscous sweet and tangy element. Pours dark amber with decent head and lacing. Tangy finish. Tap at Right proper.

Smells slightly sweet and berry like with some spices. The taste is dominated by the berries, very tart but not in the way a wild ale is, as it warms it sweetens considerably. Overall it’s a good beer, cool concept but not something I would drink all the time

Tap. Deep golden with minimal head. Strong berry notes. Lightly tart with a nice herbal undertone. Quite unique. No booze at all.Amazing for the abv.
