Birch syrup and cranberries in the aroma. Amber colored beer with a thick long sustaining white head with small bubbles. Flavor includes a slight pleasant fruit tartness. A noticeable bitterness on the end. No hops present. Mouthfeel is medium body. Overall, an interesting beer. Seems like a good beer to drink on a hot summer day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft sample at Cincy Beerfest 2013 on Fountain Square. Pours a mostly clear tea amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of honey, grapes, apple, birch syrup, and herbs. The flavor has a lot more berries - lingonberries, cranberries - with birch syrup, herbs, tea, and apple. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and sweet, juicy mouthfeel. Interesting beer, but I’m glad I got to try it at a festival and not from a $13 bottle.

One of the better acient ale series. Lovely aroma and a very tart fruit taste. Really well done.

Light, yet full of flavor. Fruity, tart, a little sweet and earthy(hints of cranberry and hops). Really enjoyed it on Tap at the Dogfish Head Brewpub.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, very well retained ivory head, with some lacing, over a very slightly hazy, dark amber (SRM 15) body.....nose is cranberry, cinnamon tones, no hops, balance to the berries....taste is moderately sweet, with cranberry lingonberry tartness, cinnamon notes, light herbal tones, no hop bitterness, finishing almost dry.....mouth feel, light body, slight alcohol warmth, carbonation high. This has many features similar to many alcoholic soda soft drinks. It is sweet, slightly tart, light in body, and has many herbal, spice tones. It is a very atypical beer, which shows why it died out until this res-erection and it is quite expensive. BJCP 6/3/13/4/6

"Just when I was getting quite tired of their ancient ales (brewed with honey!) they mixed things up a bit. Still a strong somewhat sweet ale. The honey is present, but done well. The mix of tart berries is quite nice. Initially, the herbal aspect is too, but it wears thin as the beer warms. Nice, unique brew that covers the 10% well, but still not worth the coin (this was a gift)."

the aroma is absent and the flavor is how described it looks like beer and the palate is palatable as for the overall rating....overall not bad. the app isnt working good today so forgive me if i am a little cavalier but it is frustrating.

Draught at Fest of Ales. Big fruity cranberry taste throughout. Some spritzer. Not something I’d want in large amounts.

Bottle. Pours crisp bright yellow with a small head and some lacing. Bright fun flavors, a bit of sour, mild yeast and malt notes, lingering tart finish.

Pours a dark copper color with a bready off white head. Notes of caramel soda, raspberries, with a foamy mouthfeel.

Draft: Poured a reddish color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of berries and herbs is not the most enticing. Taste was also a weird mix between some berries notes, herbs with weird unrefined grainy notes. Body is light with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting experiment but with such low drinkability I think I will avoid in the future.
