COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lawnmower Light is our intro for those who need a little help jumping feet first into the crazy world that is Dogfish Head beer. It's a starter beer, but it's not dumbed down. Lawnmower is made with quality ingredients and is a great thirst quencher - perfect to enjoy after a day in the sun mowing the lawn (or anything else that gets you hot and bothered)!

A crisp American original brewed to 10deg. plato from American 2-row pale malt and 20% corn and expertly balanced with 9 IBU's.

Perfect for those who are used to commercially, mass-prodcued light beers.

This is def. a starter beer, little flavor and pretty watery, not as bad as mass produced but nothing like any other dogfish brew.

"My girlfriend ordered this at the Ale house in Fairfax VA. I had to try a bit and she loves making fun of me as I jot down notes of beers. A - No head, very light pilsner colored beers. It’s just a wattery looking beer like a Coors or Miller High Life with far less carbonation. S - Lots of wheat with some lemon and fresh cut grass. Very summery smell. T - Tastes like a weak hefeweizen but there’s still flavor here..but it’s very hard to find. M - Very light beer, no carbonation when swishing it around. O - This isn’t a bad beer. DFH took a style of beer that isn’t too represented in craft (with good reason) and made it tasty. I’d drink this over a Budweiser for sure and pick it easily in a blind taste test but it’s just not a beer I’d drink day to day. This beer would go GREAT with burgers and bacon!"

On tap at DFH. Yep, a light beer to please the masses. Was at the brewpub, never had it, so had to try it at least once!

Definitely one of the lightest beers I’ve had from Dogfish Head. Light color, aroma and flavor. A great beer for the summer and very sessionable. A really good anytime beer.

Pretty much what you’d expect. Actually remind me of a sweaty betty. Grassy flavor, clean and crisp. Good for what it is.

On Tap at the DFH brew pub. Pours pale straw hue with a thin white head. Very fruity, malty aroma has a hint of hops. Light-medium, crisp body. Light, pleasant hops are balanced on the palate by biscuit malt and lemon fruit. Very pleasant, light session beer.

11 Aug 2011, tap at the brewpub. yellow, clear some steady bubbles. smells a bit like a slightly sweet, faintly crisp, hoppy lager. thin/med body, a bit fizzy. slightly heavy if it was meant to be a lager (which it’s not). faint toast notes, w/ main flavor of lemon pith, but not much citrus. a sessionable light ale but a bit heavy for a thirst quencher in the summer sun.

Appearance: clear buttery gold, a one-finger white head, minimal lacing. Aroma: sweet cereal grains, hint of grassy, lemony hops. Taste: crisply sweet, very strong notes of cracker and biscuit, with some lightly floral and citrus hops. Finish: short, crisp, clean, with strong malty notes and subtly floral burps for a minute or two. Notes: Doesn’t seem like a cream ale at all; much more like a very good premium lager. Whatever it is, it’s good. Darn good. On tap at DFH Aleworks in Gaithersburg.

This is one of the beer light lagers I had but tasted like a more quality budlight. Same malt flavors and extremely light bitterness. A tad more malt flavor than I would expect from a light beer.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the Dogfish Alehouse in Falls Church. The pour brings a bright yellow body with plenty of visible carbonation and a white head. The nose is mostly just some light grain. I don’t think there’s much more I can say. Taste is the some with light grain and straw. Light body with good carbonation. A nice lawnmower beer and drinks well for what it is. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-10-2010
