on draft @ the house of Nobi .. . pours out a mild gold .. . low foam, only spots of lacing .. . grainy mouthfeel .. . old leaves, dirt, grass, and wig hair .. . light mouth .. . not much going on here .. . . Pollen counts around trophy presentations are notoriously high.

On tap at Dogfish Head in Gaithersburg. Pours golden with a lasting head. Aroma of citrus and grass. Nice taste of fruit, citrus. Acidity makes it nice palate cleansing. Donít know if it has the hops for a double IPA, but nice.

750ml bottle shared by Mike Memorial Day Sunday. Poured a nice looking syrupy but mostly flat honey orange body under a large rocky mostly white head. Aroma is sweet, notes of honey and some dough, homey topped bread, flowers, grassy hops. Palate is a little flat with a medium body and a lingering aftertaste. Flavor is the same as the aroma, dry toast, honey, flowers, grassy hops, some orange notes as well. Not bad but nothing that needs to be in a 750ml bottle.

Bottle Sampled at Hoppy Monk February 2013. Pours lightly hazy orange with a very small fizzy white head. nose is wack-plums, citrus (old), fig, sugary hops lite medicinal character. flavors of sweet fruit, resin, hops, lite honey, fig, vanilla and sweet lite alcohol kick long into the finish. a double ipa you say? hmmm doesnt seem anything like that. maybe the bottle has a bit of age on it. however, the bar claims it came in shortly before purchase. finish has lingering alcohol heat, resinous hops. not a bad beer perse but not great either, especially the high price tag.

Not a ton of hops in the nose. Pours clear and amber with off-white head. Very thin mouth feel. Way too much caramel malt and not enough dry hopping. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In short: A very clean, sweet juicy-fruity golden IPA, low on aromatic, low on complexity, low on excitement. Very boring.
How: Bottle 750ml, consumed very fresh a few weeks after the beer was first release.
The look: Crystal clear pale-golden body topped by a medium off-white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is not exactly a hop-bomb, a smell of canned fruits (canned apricots, canned peaches, etc.) along with sweet bananas. Taste is more of the same. Sweet not-so-fresh fruits, really felt like drinking the leftover sweet from canned fruits, too much booze for a 8% beer, high sweetness sensation, timid juicy fruity hops, hops resin in the finish. Very soft carbonation. Not sure what to make of this. Like drinking a sweet mix-fruit breakfast juice with a few bubbles followed by a resinous bitterness. This beer is as clean as clean can be and therefore somewhat drinkable, but I found it boring as hell, not a bad beer, just really really really boring. And I have no clue what the hell Life & Limb Rhizing Bines means, hey brewers, if you are going to make a beer that insults my intelligence please use simple words so I can understand.

Standard head and amber color; not cloudy. Soft taste, almost like its not a true heavy IPA. Nice crisp, sweet aftertaste. Solid beer, but nothing special.
