Rhizing Bines is a collaborative IPA using the best of both coasts: Carolina-grown red fife wheat and Dogfish Head’s continual-hopping from the East and Sierra Nevada’s estate-grown caramel malt and Torpedo dry-hopping from the west.

750 ml. capped bottle. Pours a thick, well retained white head, with some lacing, over a clear light amber (SRM 7) body.....nose is light hop spice, hints of toffee/caramel, light pine, hints of citrus......taste is light toffee/caramel, hints of floral honey, light citrus tones, with moderate hop resin, pine, grapefruit.......mouth feel light of medium, soft, alcohol hidden, carbonation adds a clean finishing tingle. This is a very soft, gentle, relatively light take on a I/DIPA. It is nicely balanced, but does not have the dominant hop character so frequently found. The general style of Dogfish’s dominated that of Sierra Nevada. Think of this as an "East Coast" or English I/DIPA. BJCP 7/3/15/4/7

21.4 ounce bottle. Pours a light copper color with a small rocky beige head and nice clinging lace. Perfumy toasted malt aroma with hints of floral hops. Clean crisp complex bittersweet malt flavor upfront with hints of cardamom. Spicy citrus hops in mid taste. Nice dry hop finish. Nicely balanced and flavorful.

Pours a clear amber with a foamy off-white head. Smells of white bread, citrus, spruce. Taste is sweet and bitter - biscuit malts, citrusy hops.

Cloudy reddish orange in color... Aroma of caramel malt akin to an east coast ipa... Flavor is toffee and wet hops, interesting, not like any other hop I've had... Minimal pine, citrus, lemongrass on palate... Solid ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared by drowland, pours a clear amber gold with a white head and no lacing, the aroma has just a little bit of hop and citrus, really not a lot there and I was expecting more out of it, the flavor has some citrus on the front end but has a really dry finish that’s uneven, strange metallic finish, pretty weird.

Mild hop aroma with a bitter hop taste and nice malt character. A not too bitter aftertaste with good hops.

Draft. So little aroma considering big taste. Sweet, only slightly hoppy at first, a tad more bitter at finish. Delicious overall. I will have another! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pours with a mahogany body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth malt notes, faint molasses with sort of a spicy cola soda like sensation too. The taste is nice with sweet malts, a dash of toffee and then spicy black strap molasses mixing with a sense of ginger spice and floral notes into the finish.

bottle. pale orange, clear, large sudsy white head. sweet apricot aroma. flavor has a robust crystal malt character with a bit of breadiness. a large amount of bittering hops with a blend of melony/floral/citrus/cinnamon hop notes without being over the top. warm palate with a medium body. been awhile since i’ve had a caramelly ipa. cinnamon hints similar to amarillo.

Had on tap. Excellent DIPA. Tastes of flowers-maybe its that new hop variety. Great body & lace. Maybe slightly lacking in the aroma dept., but otherwise perfect.
