COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meet Your Maté is the newest installment from our Co-Worker Small Batch Brewing program, this one created by our Tour Team from the Tasting Room in Milton. Their recipe consisted of classic English malts to shape a Pale Ale or Extra Special Bitter styled ale with the additions of brown sugar, Agave syrup, and Yerba Maté. Maté is an herb, highly popular in Central and parts of South America (Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina in particular) and when steeped in hot water is enjoyed much like tea, with a similar dry earthy taste (and a moderate amount of caffeine). This earthy character compliments and accentuates the herbal spicy bitterness contributed by English Fuggles hops. The Agave and brown sugar help balance this character along with the bready English malts to form delicate notes of honey and toasted bread.

Rated on 02-28-2013 on tap at DFH Brewpub, Redobeth Beach, DE. The appearance is a small head that mostly diminishes, opaque body, and a good amount of lacing. The aroma is mild malt, herbal, sugary, earthy, and hops. The flavor is much the same as the aroma plus spicy, bready, and a dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and light carbonation. This beer has a lot going on with all the various aromas and flavors. It is quaffable and despite the low ratings is worth trying.

Brewpub exclusive. On tap. Pours a clear copper with very little head. Aroma is sweet sugar and herbal. Taste is the same. Brown sugar and earthy! My least favorite of the recent brewpub exclusives

This draft brew from the brew pub poured a head of finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation hazy orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was musty and malt hop. The thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium herbal aftertaste. The funky flavor contained notes of spices herbal brown malt and fruity. An OK brew just nothing special.
