This here beer is a lagerific departure for our ale-centric brewery. A marriage of old world tradition and new world innovation, My Antonia is brewed with pilsner malt and continually-hopped with a blend of Noble and West Coast hops.

I’ve only given a 5 to a select few brews. DFH has combined what I like best in an ale and added in the hoppyness of an IPA without going overboard. The ABV is perfect and the color, head and aroma are perfect. In the glass this brew remined me of the what I loved about Saison DuPont and why consider it the perfect beer.

Delicious beer, great flavors, strong ABV without feeling like it at all. Tastes somewhat farmhousey but better.

Aroma is sweet with a slight sense of hops. Pour is golden with a white foamy top. Taste is GREAT. I’m not a pilsner lover per se, but this is great! Lots of tastes coming through - starts off with citrus (and really through out) finishing with a nice hoppy taste. Had this on draft.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1pint 9.4oz bottle into a Pilsener glass. The label has a short description of the beer and its abv. (7.5%) No freshness date. Appearance: It has a light hazy with a nice golden hue and a tall rocky head to top it off. (The last glass has a much heavier haze.)The head has excellent retention and it clings to the glass leaving lots of thick chunky lacing behind. Smell: This is lovely and full of fruity pale and biscuity sweetness with juicy hops. Notes of pineapple, peach and floral/citrusy hops fill the nose. Taste/Palate: To start with I must say that there was less hop bitterness than I was expecting from the continually-hopped beer. What was there was in very good balance. As with the aroma I picked up nice tropical fruit notes on sweet pale biscuity base, complemented with citrusy hops. The finish is fruity and balanced with pleasant hop bitterness. On the palate it has a firm medium feel with nice lively and balanced carbonation. Notes: This is just an outstanding lager beer and I would highly recommend this to anyone!!!

Great look, very effervescent. Not much in the way of aroma. This starts off quite crisp, and then the hops come on quick and strong. The finish is crisp and very dry, perhaps even a hair too much. But mostly this is excellent and worthy of repeat purchase. They should sell this as a six-pack. I just bought the book too; I hope it’s as good as this beer.

Hazy orange color with lots and lots of head. This is a glorious beer. Strong and potent, yet not overly aggressive in any way. Some sweetness and maltiness. Good alcohol taste, but does not seem very noticeable. The foam continued to possess the top of my beer the whole damn time I drank it.
