3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ross (1916) - weddington, USA - DEC 14, 2011
Bottle. Pours out a yellow color with a nice white head on it. Smell is fruity and pretty nicely hopped. Pine, straw, and citrus are abound. Taste is fruity with a good hop kick. No noticeable alcohol noted, but it is very easy to drink. They should put this one in six packs. A perfect summer beer.

Draft - pours like a lager. Nose is typical for style (light hops). A tad sweet but not too bitter. Nothing really memorable but tasty nonetheless.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ngeunit1 (823) - Mountain View, California, USA - MAY 25, 2012
A - Pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down pretty slowly leaving behind some thick lace.
S - Aroma is a mix of strong citrus and tropical hops with lots of grapefruit and a bit of pine alongside some pilsner malt and a bit of lager esters.
T - Starts off with a mix of tropical and citrus hop with a bit of bitterness and some pilsner malts. Through the middle some pine hops comes through with some bitterness alongside a touch of lager yeast esters. The finish is a mix of grapefruit hops flavor with a touch of pine and some pilsner malt.
M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
D - Very drinkable. Really nice hoppy Imperial Pilsner. The balance is really nice between the hops and malt and the finish is really nice and clean.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 umich03jm (179) - Michigan, USA - MAY 23, 2012
Pours a golden yellow color, mostly clear, with a huge thick foamy head. Aroma is pale malt, bread, pepper, grass. Taste is very smooth at first and then lots of carbonation bubbles on the tongue all through the finish. The sweetness seems to intensify as it remains on the tongue too. The spiciness balances well with the sweetness. Slight alcohol burn at the finish too. Really good Imperial Pils.

Flavor is sweet malt forward with good supporting hops (medium bitterness) and fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.

Hazy orange color with lots and lots of head. This is a glorious beer. Strong and potent, yet not overly aggressive in any way. Some sweetness and maltiness. Good alcohol taste, but does not seem very noticeable. The foam continued to possess the top of my beer the whole damn time I drank it.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bmerz (229) - New York, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Bottle from Breukelen Bier Merchants. Really very pleasantly surprised by this beer. I never expected an imperial pilsner to work. First of all she’s gorgeous...honey with a big billowy top and amazing lace. The aroma is classic pilsner spicy hops and grass but with floral honey notes. The honey continues strongly in the taste and somewhat viscous silken palate. It’s nicely sweet and finishes a little bitter. Can a beer be sensual? I think this is.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Tide (127) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAY 15, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 16, 2012 Draught at bar. Golden color, white head. Malty taste with alcohol and citrus. Pretty ok brew.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tia (467) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Tap. Apricot golden with this head. Smells like biscuit and honey. Sweet with a honey touch them tempered by sour and a light bitterness. Moderate carbonation, lightly sweet finish.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rollinsr (159) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - MAY 9, 2012
Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a good bit of white head. Aroma is nice floral citrus with some pleasant tartness to it. This beer almost tastes like a mild double pale ale but is incredibly smooth with some good doughy pilsener malts to it. The beer is doughy and sticky at the same time. Highly recommended even if you are not a pilsener fan (I am definitely not a pilsener fan, but this beer is not a conventional pilsener).
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 WISEGUY572 (1373) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2012
Enjoyable and easier to imagine coming back to than a lot of Sam’s more extreme creations. Nose of sweet malts and hops. Amber with a large white head, good lacing. Not over the top on any dimension. Takes liberty with the pils / lager description by hopping more strongly and with some PNW hops. More of an American Pale, I think. Nice combination of old world floral and new world citrus hopping, whatever the beer is called.
