3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Pale hazy golden, strong orange hue, large frothy white head, sticky lacing.   Bright sweet straw, seems heavy, faint alcohol.   Somewhat of a pale fruity start, a little citrusy too.   Strong straw/hay, but thankfully not cloying.   Very smooth, alcohol doesn’t show on the tongue.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Backside falls a little flat, well dull anyway.   Not a bright nor crisp beer, but instead a bit fruity, citrusy, with a decent straw/hay balance.   Thankfully not grainy like so many others.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This sobstory from dogfishhead pours a beautiful hazy golden color with slowly rising bubbles. The head is pure white, frothy and thick and holds a massive foamy presence at the top of the glass. The aroma is light malts, grass and fruit. The flavor is deep plum, dark malt and belgian yeast along with fermenting grass. One badass seasonal for a 26 degree day in Austin. Warms the gullet and numbs the tongue.

Very nice. Smooth. Underlying malty sweetness. Just a bit of hops to keep things interesting. Surprisingly full bodied given the translucent pour. A-

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
8/26/2011. From bottle. Pours straw yellow with a white head. Malty and hoppy aromas. For a pilsner, a lot of hops, but in a good way. Very refreshing, bitter and satisfying.

Seems a little hoppy for a pilsner but I guess that’s the imperial seep Yuri ng through. Not my favorite but still quality.

Not sure if I buy off on the "imperial pilsner" style. After all, in a pilsner, I look for a malty, crispy, refreshment. I like that the pilsner style stays around 5% ABV. The imperial style seems to fall between two stools: Not really making it as an ale and not making it as a refreshing lager.

This is the first for the portfolio but it gushed. Kept at proper temps but the towel use was to much. I hate the late chemistry? I am NOT a I’ve hop fan (chemistry knowledge) but this was perfectly balanced for the pilsner. For sure can make out the the PH of the H2O. Some of the others fail the dogfish has my glass held high

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma - spicy floral hop notes (Saaz specifically) with intense pilsner malt sweetness. Definitely smell the strength of the ABV at 7.5%. Color - golden hay with a hoppy haze with a thick white mousse head that laces all the way down the glass. Flavor - crisp and clean like a pilsner with a kick of ABV and intense hop flavor. Not your typical pilsner due to the high ABV but well balanced. Somewhat spicy from the hops and a very sweet pilsner malt finish. Mouthfeel - full bodied pils with a nice level of carbonation. Overall impression - DFH has done a great job pushing the boundaries making a 7.5% pilsner completely balanced with tons of hops and malt. A few of these definitely warm you up! 3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Poured pale gold with a thick white head. Aroma was light fruit, spicy, floral hops, light sweetness, pale malt. Flavor was citrusy, resinous, slighlty spicy hops; moderate bitterness; light fruit (pear, apple, apricot); a slight musty yeastiness; pale malt. Quite delicious.

Bread and citrus on the nose with a bit of pine as well. Light golden in color, and a bit hazy. Healthy, off white head. Biscuit flavor up front fading into a mellow pine finish.

A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Little Light, White Head, Decent Lacing
S: Oranges, Cinnamon, Pine
T: Oranges, Piney, Black Pepper
M: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Spicey, Mildly Dry
Overall, mine was very spicey and with the orange taste, didnt really remind me of an imperial pilsner at all. A good beer but doesnt really follow the style as listed.
