COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian-style White made with dried organic orange slices, fresh cut lemongrass and a bit of coriander. This beer will be a great summer quencher. Namaste was brewed with Leo from Birra del Borgo in Italy as a tribute to our friends at 3 Fonteinen brewery in Belgium, who recently had devastating production loss (1/3 of their annual production!) at their brewery

2010 bottle via a trade with Veldrid. Pours with a murky yellow body with a medium sized white head. Aromas of lemon, coriander, cologne and potpourri. Some mandarin orange, wheat, and sage as well. Flavors are up front with wheat, lemongrass, orange, vanilla, biscuit and pepper. A bit perfumey. Medium, delicate carbonation. Light mouthfeel. Pretty refreshing.

Bottle: Pours a clear deep golden with a stringy-lacing froth of white head. Has a lightly sweet biscuity pale malty nose with a light citrus and coriander character. Starts with an effervescent light body with a touch of light biscuity sweetness and orange zest with a lightly bitter coriander spice before a smooth, drier finish. True to style and drinkable, but could use a touch more sweetness.

Opened a 750ml bottle and poured the first glass. It came out a hazy, and pale. I got the lemongrass right away and some orange flavor quickly there after. I did not see where this was an unfiltered brew, which may have spoiled the overall experience. Had I noted that fact, I would have poured the final glass differently.

Enjoyed from a 750ml bottle in a wine glass. The beer pours a clear deep yellow to very light amber color, with a low white head. The nose shows distinct coriander character, reflecting the notes shown in the best examples of the style in a manner that few others effectively duplicate. As the sample warms a bit, pleasant orange notes come through, reminiscent of warm summer afternoons. The palate seems to continue in the vein of the aroma profile, effectively showing classic flavors of the style. Again, coriander and orange are noticeable, as is a well-fermented, clean underlying beer. Carbonation is nicely leveled. The ester profile of the yeast strain is noticeable, but takes a decisive backseat to the aforesaid spice and citrus additions. The balance of the flavors with the clean, crisp profile of the underlying beer allows the sample to be eminently drinkable. The finish shows notes of citrus, a slight bitterness, and a touch of coriander spice. Overall, a surprising offering from Dogfish Head, given the stylistic accuracy, but a beautifully crafted and executed example of the style.

hazy orange with large white head. nose of orange, some lemon, and touches of pepper. little biterness before some some belgian ester notes before touches of the above spices with a crisp refreshing finish without much lingering flavor. overall, a nice belgian wit, though the age has likely tempered the spices.

750mL bottle. Poured slightly hazy medium golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up vibrant lemongrass, lemonzest, coriander, and cloves over a pale base that didn’t need to do much more than provide support.. maybe a little on the sugary side on the back of the nose, but the flavor took care of that. The flavor found honey, pale malts, and white wheat at the core, with a whole host of spices around.. tart lemon and lemongrass upfront, with cloves and coriander following.. orange rind plus tangy and earthy spices over honey on the refreshing finish. Light-medium bodied with fine flow across the palate.. close to grainy at times, but there was enough carbonation to keep it moving.. good stuff.

Capped 750 from Malt & Vine. Making cioppino and thinking maybe a light white beer. Pours hazy dishwater gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma is sort of citrus and hint of coriander. Near medium body. Flavor is orange hint, citrus, definitely coriander and maybe another herb. Drinks with firm body and clean taste. Going down well.
