4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a cloudy yellow color with a medium white head. Aromas are orange peels and lemon. The taste is fantastic, a perfect balance of orange, lemon, and spices. Better than hoegaarden, probably the best white Iíve ever had.

Probably one of the better witbiers on the market and Iím glad it now comes in 6-pks. Pours a cloudy golden color with white head. Plenty of spice on the nose, coriander, raw wheat, and some sweet tones; follows onto the palate. Finishes with wheat tones.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
pale color; orangy, lemony citrus aroma; a very refreshing beer; a well balanced wheat beer with a nice spicy coriander-citrus flavor; the lemongrass gives it a nice, subtle lemony flavor

Thanks to Travlr for sharing this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled. Quite curious & have been for a long time to try DFH. This is witbier made with dried orange slices, fresh cut lemongrass and some coriander so not too far from the original definition of the style safe for perhaps the lemongrass. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Smells of sweet fluffy wheat, herbs, coriander, bitter herbs, lemon and sweet floral. Taste is soft fluffy wheat, fluffy, airy, lemongrass, lemon, soft yeast & fruits, floral with some bitter herbs, some citrus, spices in the back. Lovely fitting higher carb. airy Ė quite a fine witbeer. One of the finer ones I have had. Does feel a bit lacking because with all the back-story, interesting ingredient etc. you get a bit more pumped up & expect more. Without that, I would be less interested in trying this but more exited afterwards. Still lovely.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2013 Probably my favorite craft beer to date. Didnít have a heavy after taste like most beers, and was very refreshing! Would highly recommend.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2014 I found this beer to be exceptional. It is a Wit but of lighter fare than some Belgian Offerings. Extremely refreshing. Though the orange isnít distinct, the corriander, lemon grass are distinct and apparent. The black pepper serves to highten the impression of the CO2 on the tongue by leaving a lingering bit of heat. I give high scores due to the drinkability and the unique lemon grass twist. A total Summer Beer that you can drink all day long.

Nose is pleasant Lemon soap notes, spicy, peppery notes, perhaps the coriander. Creamy well carbonated mouth feel. Head laces the glass. Well balanced and tasty. Nice wheat, lemon, and spice flavor.
