COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian-style White made with dried organic orange slices, fresh cut lemongrass and a bit of coriander. This beer will be a great summer quencher. Namaste was brewed with Leo from Birra del Borgo in Italy as a tribute to our friends at 3 Fonteinen brewery in Belgium, who recently had devastating production loss (1/3 of their annual production!) at their brewery

This is really, really good beer! Light and fruity with a nice presentation. Had it at grandmas funeral.

This wit is smoking, it pours golden with a fluffy white head. the nose is all coriander and spice, while the palate is the same. One of the best wits in my opinion.

bread, citrus, peppery aroma, definately belgian yeast characteristics. hazy, bright yellow in color. frothy, white foam at pour, mellows to a nice thin pad that sticks around. medium peppered sweetness, light salty, citrus flavors. yum light, creamy body, a little fizz from the carbonation overall great belgian white with nice spice and citrus flavors throughout. a great summertime or outside drink!

Poured into an English pint glass from a bottled dated 2011 108 3.

A: Very pale straw colored body, on the pour I wondered if my bottle was ruined somehow with how pale it poured. The head is thick but fluffy and rocky creating a mess on the glass.

S: Spring smelling, lots of lemon and orange citrus with a slight spice to it. Very appealing, it reminds me of spring.

T: Very bright and refreshing, lots of lemon in here weaving in and out with the oranges and a zesty coriander spice underlies it all. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

M: Light bodied but very carbonated, even the smallest sip expands in my mouth with fizzy bubbles. Very lively and exciting!

O: This is a great beer for anyone. It’s very inoffensive and easy to drink and will be a great bridge for those who like Blue Moon to try and ease them into better flavored craft beers.

Nice citrus aromas, lemongrass, coriander, pleasant grassy/green like good olive oil. A little yeasty, nicely carbonated, refreshing, and totally enjoyable. Love the concept also - unearthing truly historic brews, science and art combined. Really just a fun brew to drink, IMHO.

Thanks to Travlr for sharing this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled. Quite curious & have been for a long time to try DFH. This is witbier made with dried orange slices, fresh cut lemongrass and some coriander so not too far from the original definition of the style safe for perhaps the lemongrass. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Smells of sweet fluffy wheat, herbs, coriander, bitter herbs, lemon and sweet floral. Taste is soft fluffy wheat, fluffy, airy, lemongrass, lemon, soft yeast & fruits, floral with some bitter herbs, some citrus, spices in the back. Lovely fitting higher carb. airy – quite a fine witbeer. One of the finer ones I have had. Does feel a bit lacking because with all the back-story, interesting ingredient etc. you get a bit more pumped up & expect more. Without that, I would be less interested in trying this but more exited afterwards. Still lovely.

The taste is nothing short of amazing. Loads of orange is definitely there, with heaps of coriander as well. Just a very flavorful wit all around. This is how you do it. The slightly grainy wheat shows up just after, along with a small zing at the back which I’ll assume is the lemongrass. Perhaps the best wit I have ever had, and that’s saying something when it’s considered that this is one of my very favorite styles.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2013 Probably my favorite craft beer to date. Didn’t have a heavy after taste like most beers, and was very refreshing! Would highly recommend.
