A sort of Saison, fermented with Botrytis-infected Viognier and Pinot Gris grapes. This beer is brewed with Pils malt, organic Hard Red Winter Wheat malt, Warrior hops, Willamette hops, Liberty hops, Saison yeast and Botrytis wine must.

Happy as always to try a DFH experiment. This one was better than many. Clear gold, slight fizzy head. Aroma was lightly of wheat and light fruits - maybe Thompson seedless green grapes, but it could just be subjective. Flavor matches, a hint of honey, the suggestion of some tartness. Pleasant, if not overly complex. Interesting - the noble rot really doesnít come through as much as I would have expected - the saison yeast must have beaten it to the punch. In the end, just comes across as a nice saison.

Bright clear paleish gold beer. Good white head. Mildly sour grapey nose. Palate is fresh and crisp. Mildly tart grape with a whisper of orange. Minerals. Finishes dry and winey. This really does come over as a tart white wine. Would love to give this to snooty wine drinkers and see what they made of it! Super inventive - even by Dogfish Head standards!

On tap. Golden with a small, creamy head. Aromas of grape must, white wine, crisp citrus. Flavors are the same with maybe a touch of toast. Near- medium body is dry and has medium-high carbonation.

pale color, only slight head. smell is quite acetic, grassy, bret. nice carbonation. sour, grape taste, reminds of an new zealand sauvinon blanc. I eould categorize it as sour beer instead of fruitbeer

Aromas of pear, apple, apricot, green melon, flowers, and fresh straw. Clear gold, with a fairly lasting, white head. Dry, tart, and slightly sour. Medium bodied with average carbonation, and finishes with dry, fruity flavors lingering.

Bottle. Iíve been looking forward to trying this since it debuted several years ago. Bright clarity and straw yellow on the pour with a retentive white head. Pils malt and grassy aroma, earthy, stone fruit, mild grape. A touch of DMS. Mildly acidic and pretty strong yeasty flavors, some bright grapey fruit, husky DMS malt, dry, well hidden alcohol. Lots of saison character. No huge Viognier nor wine, nor sour flavor in the fore front. Lively carbonation. Bready and yeasty flavors. Dry, well contained alcohol. Different than expected. Aftertaste has mild plastic and sulfur notes.

This is the second grape-wine beer Iíve had in a week and while way better than Blue Moon Proximity Iím just not sure grape is all that great in beer. This is just okay.

750 ml. capped bottle. Pours a thin white head, with some lacing, over a pale yellow (SRM 2) body.....nose is vinous, with light Pils malt.....taste is vinous, with light cereal, sweet throughout, finishing with a light hop bitterness....mouth feel light, light astringency, carbonation high. The grape must dominates the very light malts with a remarkably small contribution from the hops. The net result is a sparking, slightly bitter, moderately sweet, low alcohol, white wine. On draft at Tap 25. It pours a very clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma stand out as fermented white grape juice with some tart and bready notes. Some hay. The flavor has some light notes of pepper, grapes and hay. Light tartness. It has a fizzy and light body. Pretty good stuff.
