3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear, champagne color, laces the glass slightly and with a frothy minimal head. The aroma of a white wine is obvious and present. There is a tad bit of bubbly on the palate and carbonation visible in the glass. It is dry and slightly reminds me of a Belgium style white ipa. Light bodied and some spices.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle shared by jercraigs and mabel with me and blankboy. Pale gold, clear, large but diminishing frothy white head. Dry, lemony-wheaty aroma, maybe a hint of wineskin. Taste is alcohol, grapeskins, bit of champagne yeast. Average mouthfeel, solid carbonation, acidic, not boozy - interesting, but not amazing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Almost clear very pale yellow/amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Grape nose and flavor is tart grape. Dry finish. Called a saison but really closer to a wine flavor. Not cheap at $14.99 for a 750ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, MA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. Pours golden with a very thin, barely existent white head. Definite grapes on the nose. Tastes like a Riesling in that it has this sharp fruitiness with a touch of gravel. Finish lingers a bit. Hides its alcohol well That’s different.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a clear, pale straw gold with lots of rising carbonation bubbles and an initially thick fizzy white head. Big sweet grape character in the nose and flavor. Also sweet and bready malts, apricot, and mild spices. Light-bodied, with crisp, fizzy carbonation and a vinous mouthfeel. Led by those grapes; we split this with wine snob friends who said Viognier is too sweet for them but they were all right with this and said they liked it better as a beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 5/12/13 from a capped 750mL bottle purchased at AJ’s Mesa. Pours clear, very light yellow, with an average, fizzy white head that recedes fairly quickly to thin, but lasting lace. The nose is sweet grape with some light bread malt, and just a touch of a spicy yeast character. The flavor is more of a dry grape flavor than I expected based on the nose, with the same light bread malt and the lightly spicy yeast character coming through a bit more strongly. The body is medium with lively, fizzy carbonation, and a long grapey finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Looks and smells like a dry white wine, except for the beery head. Sweet, grape-laden for sure. Musty, earthy, leafy. Reminds me of the very first wine I ever tried, or maybe even those grape drinks made to impersonate wine that they give you at Communion. But it’s got a great golden ale mouthfeel, is active and lovely, and drinks with a gumption strong enough to compete with any saison. Good stuff! (#5020, 5/12/2013)

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear pale gold. Aroma is grainy with lots skunkyness. Taste is largely the same as the aroma at first. I got alot of skunkyness like drinking a pilsner or something that has set out for way to long. I think I might have been missing something here but this really didn’t agree with me, and I usually love Dogfish Head beers. The one redeeming factor was how champagne like the texture was. Its tasted pretty bad but it was possibly the most easy to drink 9% beer I’ve ever had, gotta hand that to it. After the first few drinks skunk wore away and it was a very sweet half decent pilsner type beer at best, but i saw no real redeeming quality’s. I don’t know if I got a bad bottle of this or what but it was pretty surprising. I was assured it was not old but it sure tasted like it...Something was wrong.

Large white head on top of a clear light yellow body. Noise of citrus and a hint of grape. A short finish.
