COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by a tale of a cask doctor who brought sluggish ales back to life by suspending a fig in them. Brewed from 100% Maris Otter pale ale malt, a blend of fine hops and conditioned on dates and figs. User Instructions: open bottle, pour contents into two snifters. Enjoy. ALTERNATIVELY: Walk hand-in-neck with bottle into the middle of the woods. Use shovel to dig 2x2 hole three feet deep. Seal bottle in plastic bag. Place in hole and pack with dirt. Memorize location and leave. Return exactly one year later. Dig up bottle, open and enjoy.

An unclear dark orange beer with a small orange head. The aroma is of caramel and alcohol and is quite sweet. The flavor is dry with notes of caramel and alcohol.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, pale amber golden with a creamy, white head. A nose full of both citrus and caramel. Extremely full-bodied with accents of peaches, vanilla and caramel and an extremely warming alcohol. Some aroma hops but not really bitter. Quite lovely. 110606

Bottled. Deep golden colour, no head. Sweet and vastly malty. Sugary, but that does not disturb. Enough hops to overpower the sweetness. Bitter finish. Very enjoyable. There is no way I could guess tthis beer was 15%.

Bottle, 15%. Vinous and alcoholic aroma, some paint thinner. Almost clear dark amber colour. The flavour is extremely sugary, quite vinous. Has some brandy as well. Sweet vanilla. Not so balanced.

Hazy amber color; creamy head. In the very beginning there is a woody aroma, with very light sourness, but disappears quickly; then there is only some caramel left. Good body strength, sweet caramel flavor, but the alcohol is too strong. Not my favorite.

pours into a rusty opaque nectar with just a wispy trace of a head, light sweet citrus aroma, rich malt flavor, initial wahming effect on the first sip but no aparant alcohol afterwords, nice fruity character, nice light bitter finish, hint of citrus, fruityness gets stronger as it warms, bitterness really takes a back seat, should age really well,

opaque orange after adding a nice dose of sedement, thin off white head leaving very nice lace, mild sweet malty aroma, light and fruity malt flavor, nice hop character with mild bitterness, very deceptive, fruityness comes out really nice, more of an aprocot than a plum, aging nicely

thining out a bit, still the nice apricot fruit flavor, a hint of alcohol, a bit of sugary sweetness

clear dark copper, fine beige head, hot sweet dark caramel malt aroma with lots of fruity character balanced by earthy hops, sweet malt flavor, lots of fruity character, caramel sweetness brings out the fruit, plenty of alcohol adds a hotness and light spicyness but does not overly detract from the overall character, good earthy bitterness adds balance and a light bitter finish but still allows the sweet fruity character to shine, wonderful young and could only get better with age,

Blazing golden brown. You can tell by the colour that only pale malts were used, but I wouldn't have guessed Maris Otter. Light fruit note, with a little bit of toastiness. Sweet palate with alcohol burn coming through. Fading leafy hop on the left. Too simple to be a top-flight barley wine.
