Pours a nice copper color, bright and great head retention. The initial aroma is that of my penny jar. As the metalic nose fades, it is followed up by a lactic twinge. The body and taste is much bigger than what one would expect. Very sweet finish. The heat stays on your pallet minutes after drinking. I like the attempt. Would be a great beer if the alcohol was ballanced with the rest of the beer and there was more malt present in the nose.

This is almost like someone is playing some kind of sick joke on me. Did I read the label correctly... Barleywine?
The color was light orange to peachy, with little head. Aroma was decent, but again, not that of a good Barleywine. The flavor wasnít all that bad.... for a pale ale. Itís a shame these guys put so much alcohol in this, because it could be an easy drinking ale.
$15 4-pack is ridiculous, mind-boggling and offensive.

Light red. Sweet and very strong. Thick and syrupy almost like a wine. Not a fan of wines so this would affect my rating. Christmas present.

on tap at papago...
hazy brown amber with a small white head which fades to last as a film.
the aroma... well... bananas, bubblegum, caramel, piloncilla (presumably dates), more sugar and floral alcohol which actually smells like nail polish (confirmed by several).
i really had to work myself up to taste this... thing. itís the same... lots of hot floral cheaply manufactured booze with a starchy banana aftertaste.
the chewy texture and hot mouth feel just arenít going to get it done and certainly donít help the cause. yuck. 3/4/2/1/5/1.5

This beer tasted like Simple Syrup. WOW it was sweet and was offensive. Itís not very often that I pour a beer out, but I poured this one out. Sorry guys, but it was just WAY WAY WAY too sweet. Dogfishhead is great, but this one was pretty rough. If you like sweet beer, this one if for you!

Draft. A disgustingly sweet mess of jet fuel and booze. Warms the ears while tasting like butane

Relatively subdued strawberry nose. Clear copper, thin head. Syrupy sweet, cloying and almost medicinal flavor. Very much like cough syrup. Cherry and strawberry notes abound. Too fresh, or just bad? Hard to tell, but Iím not sure I want to endure this again. Terribly out of balance and craving more bitterness, something beery. Better warm, but still unpleasant. I like DFHís usual offerings, but lately, the special/seasonal releases have been a crapshoot.

Very sour and undrinkable, but alchohol is very evident. Must have been mishandled somewhere along the line.

Right up there on the like-ability scale with 120. Pour is not too viscous, was expecting something thicker. Somewhat mild volatile rubbing alky soaked fruit aroma. Taste is big cloying aftershave alky barely wine, surprizingly on style, but one of my least favorite beer styles, if this style can be called a beer. Gag reflex stays alert in the background, lets me know it is unnatural to consume this brew. Yes, big cloying on style barley wine nasty nellie experience. Does the trick, got dizzy. Barely wine lovers rejoice; then drink a 120 to celebrate, heheh.... I guess the smell of this mess keeps it from being a total flop for a lager lover. What is it; beer then, wine youíre doing fine or is it wine then beer youíre in the clear? Terrrible style; ruff, crude, union thug mentality, wew. Very difficult without many revealing qualities. Each medicinal slug reminds me of me of force feeding.

*hated it! would never drink again*
aroma: smells like dip! medicine! band aids! booze! and acetone! .. a headache.
app: brown tan, normal..
flavor: AH! the pain, the gross gross pain! this a sip of hell. it has odd fruit flavors, bad booze, chemicals abound. this is misguided, unbalanced and mean.
palate: if it matter.. to thin and bubbly for a bw.
OA: this is over the top. i would rather sip a good whiskey. strange out of place fruit, bad candy malts, harsh and is going to be dumped in my sink. i love a good BW, this is NOT one.
