Pitch brown in color, head completely dissipates after a while. The smell and taste are really unique. Bourbon, smoke and whiskey like flavors. You can feel the alcohol getting into your veins!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap in Greenville, SC.
Opaque dark brown body with a decent beige head.
A generous amount of dark roasted grains helps this achieve partially hidden alcohol.
Alcohol is obvious, but not quite harsh, in the feel, and the flavor is more than a touch boozy: just enough to hur my ratings on both dimensions.

Pours a very dark brown with a short-lived tan head. Smoked meat on the nose. Thick mouthfeel. Smoked meat comes across prominently in the flavor as well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark dark brown with a cocoa head. The aroma is really oaky. A really smooth beer. It’s a very distinctive, oaky flavour with licorice and smoke also.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rating #2160 - 2015.11.10 - Bottle from BevMo. Bubbly boozy amber pour with a decent white head. Aroma is citrusy hops and charred wood chips. Palate gathers most of this up, lots of toffee malt, citrus, pine, and a decent amount of a cedary-like dryness. Tasty.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer is a deep, deep brown color, like a coffee beer, but tastes so much different than one. I give it high marks in smell because its caramel notes are really easy to identify, and its taste is smooth as hell. It’s a LITTLE heavy, but nothing that takes you out of it. This beer is very, very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pours a thick black color with a thin dark brown head and thin but very dense lacing. Smells a bit fruity and malty. Interesting flavor with some cherry and chocolate notes. Sweet and good. The aftertaste grows and lingers but is enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown to black colored, almost no dark tan non lasting head. Aroma is of sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, some sugary dark fruit, some apple, bit wood, alcohol. Taste is medium to very sweet malt and caramel, brown sugar, some toffee, roasted malt, light chocolate, bit dark fruits, some herbal notes, medium roasty-hoppy bitterness, alcohol and warming. Medium to full bodied, sticky, soft to flat carbonation. Too sweet for me.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle purchased 5/24/16. Pours an opaque brown with just a hint of a head that has a bit of staying power. The aroma is of dark fruit, malt and some alcohol. Taste is luscious, dark fruit and boozy forward. Really enjoyed the beer!
