Bready malt aroma. Amber coloured strong in alcohol and a little sweet on the palate with a crisp and slightly spicy malt finish. halfonit (450), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2009 750 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a frothy off-white to light beige colored head. This aroma grainy pale malt with a mild sweetness. This flavor is malty and sweet with hints of vanilla and yeast. There were slight hints of ginger and a softness from the rice. The finish is yeasty and creamy. Overall this is just slightly above average. I give Dogfishead credit for trying unique things even if they don’t always live up to the promise.

The aroma is huge ginger and a big dose of bacon and salt. The flavor is sweet ginger with a huge dose of numbing spicy ginger to knock your tongue out. Interesting stuff - I wouldn’t drink it all the time but it’s a must try.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 16, 2009 A pleasant beer in most every regard. The Belgian yeast seems to dominate the other intercontinental aspects. A touch of spice is present in the flavor along with medium maltiness and a nicely balanced body. Certainly enjoyable but not remarkable. j12601 (1231), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear light orange amber with a medium sized honeyed white head. Ginger abound, and with faint hints of musky smoke, but muddled, and almost cough drops. Thicker than expected, almost treacle like. A touch sweet, malty, with some old cheesy hop flavors. Finishes up with a slow oxidized bitterness and some more ginger. Interesting.
