Bottle served in a tulip. 2009-2 bottling. Pours dark orange with a short head that rings to the glass. Aroma of heavy ginger, with tea, spice box, and indoor swimming pool. Medium sweet, dry flavor. Light body, thin yet creamy texture, and a dry, chalky, wit-like finish. Light belgian influence. Very tasty and refreshing. I’d drink this again.

Mildly hazy orange pour with with ring of offwhite head. A little Sweet and sugary and old ginger. I do love the experimentation and the spirit behind this brew, but overall, I wouldn’t want to drink it again really. Not bad though.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with a big white head. The nose is quite floral, a bit of pepper, lemon, coriander, orange peel, other random spices. The taste is quite sweet and aromatic. A bit acidic, slightly spiced finish. The palate is medium, the texture slick. Overall, a pretty unique beer. Not mind-blowing, though it was pretty fragrant with plenty of acid. This paired well with seafood.

Location/Date:Bottle shared with Dave on December 25th, 2011.

Appearance: Pours a dark orange cloud.
Aroma: Aroma is sweet of belgian malt, some hop.
Taste:Sweet and bready, some light bitterness, lemony sweetness.
Palate:Medium body, very smooth.

Summary: A very interesting brew. I can’t really can’t place a lot of the flavors, but it’s very tasty.

shonobiwan (178) - Sound Beach, New York, USA - DEC 24, 2011
Long Island, NY - 750mL bottle poured into wine glass. Poured a amber dark golden color with a thin layer of head and no lace. Aroma is sweet ginger and Autumn spices, maybe cinnamon, a hint of coriander. Taste is of advertised crystal candied ginger. It tasted as if this was slated as a Witbier and then developed into a spicy wonderland. Really an incredible offering from the ever reliant DFH brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass.

A: Very clear light copper body with carbonation bubbles abundant. 2 finger light tan head which dissipates into a nice coating on top.

S: Bready with ginger hints and some other fruity flavors, perhaps strawberry.

T: Malty up front with ginger hints and some fruit flavors. I’m tasting hints of peach and a sugary taste to it. Very crisp, leaves a light ginger aftertaste.

M: Creamy and clean with medium body and high carbonation. Leaves a fizzy feeling on the tongue.

O: I absolutely love this beer. It has nice undertones making it very complex, I wish my tongue could pick things out better. Very easy to down.

750 mL bottle. Pours a clear amber/golden color with a fair amount of off-white, frothy head; moderate lacing. Aroma is earthy, but somewhat faint; some spices (maybe coriander) and yeast. Taste is mostly of ginger and spiciness at the beginning, but the finish is characterized by moderate hoppy bitterness. The beer is drinkable with a fair amount complexity with the palate. The long, bitter finish is a nice touch without being too overpowering.

750mL. Pours a clear, bright orange to gold with a larger, yellowish head. Sheen top with thicker than expected lace. Nose is quite nice- begins husky and volatile and decants to excellent dandelion, herbs, fresh garden, potpourri like Southampton Cuvee des Fleurs or Stillwater Cellar Door. Taste is quite husky and grainy with mild butter/diacetyl. A bit too clovey and spicy overall but huge herbalness is able to hide a few flaws. Small grainy off character, but otherwise surprisingly good. Probably benefited from DFH not using their abysmal house yeast.

750ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger of off-white head that leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is light ginger and yeast with a trace of malt and yeast. Taste is malty sweet with the ginger and a mild hoppy bitterness. This is truly a unique and interesting brew that was a joy to have sampled.
