The flavor is also decent with ginger, spices and yeast. The palate is light and creamy and the carbonation is lively. Humm, what to say, it’s a worthy experiment but comes out being a barely good beer. MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2005 The Lure: Foamy carbonation propulses ginger spiciness and honey sweetness. White grape fruitiness accompanies the fresh grain, curiosity is tickled, and nostrils awakened.
The Festivities: Big-bubbled effervescence is pugnacious and bothersome. Ginger predominates, along with the grapey fruitiness, but they are either too shy to shine or are overcome by the bubbling. Faint alcohol is perceived, which isn’t necessary, for me, at this gravity. Another interesting product from DFH, but I feel like it’s more special on paper than in the mouth.
Transcendence: An artist doesn’t always have great ideas. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 18, 2005 2004 bottle: Pours a coppery color and cloudy with floaties and a large off white head. Smells mildly sour with some strong grassy elements. Taste is spicy with some strong ginger notes, and some mellow bitter citrus. Surprising for a 7% beer that’s been sitting around for 2 years on a shelf. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
