3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: bright clear orange under a bready off-white head which lingers as a decent blanket. Swirls with a touch of lace while the head remains undisturbed.
Nose: raspberry and strawberry with a hint of pomegranate. Delicate sweetness of angel food cake in the back. White rolls. Tropical aloe whispers in the back of aloe and cactus leaf. Pineapple esters. Chilled black currents in their entirety.
Palate: creamy mouthfeel and sweet with angel food cake soaked in freshly juiced black currant. Pineapple mingles. Orange creamsicle along the sides and in the finish. Dried sweet berries (strawberry, raspberry, purple grapes) and currant tarts with a thin crispy crunch of caramelized sugar crystals.
Final Thoughts: deliciously different. At first I was a little off-put thanks to my lack of familiarity with the fruit Black Currant. Pearl Jam or no Pearl Jam, gladly quaff this beery tribute again and again.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I shared this with my dad for his birthday last year.
We both had this poured into stemless snifters.
The appearance was a nice hazy golden yellow to orange color with a decent one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. There was some light lacing sticking finely to the glass.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet Belgian spices well allocated within an amplified yeasty b readiness with some sugared fruits to round it out.
The taste was mainly sweet and spicey still allowing a nice light fruitiness to come out.
On the palate, it sits about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it.
Overall, wow, what a freaking nice beer that went extremely well with a peppercorn spiced NY Strip steak.

Not bad but a little funky. Is maybe slightly to sweet for my liking but still a very interesting and tasty beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
bottle. Golden with big fluffy head. Light body with some sweet currant. Completely one dimensional. This really needs something to balance the sweetness, like a little tartness. Disappointing.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a 750ml bottle into a Spiegelau tulip.
A: Strong currants and berry notes with a hint of pomegranate. Delicate bready sweetness sweetness in the back.with pineapple esters.
A: Bright, clear orange under a bready off-white head which dissipates slowly and leaves minimal lacing.
T: Like the nose, fruity, like currants, with a solid bready, yeasty malt backbone. Strong frozen currants notes in the finish.
P: Medium-bodied with a slick texture and average mouth-carbonation,
O: Different. Initially, proroguing as the fruity currants are a relatively unfamiliar taste. Smooths out as it warms, I certainly love to concept of a tribute beer, so much so that it carries the flavor somewhat.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Most Light, Mild White Head Ring, Almost No Lacing
S: Light Belgian Sugar, Mild Grape
T: Light Belgian Sugars, Mild Currants
M: Average Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Mildly Dry
Overall, a weak belgian strong ale...if this beer was called by a different name (ie Miller) then I might have a better appreciation for it. Not Recommedned especially for 17.99 per bomber.
