Bottle. Pours a very light, mostly clear golden orange. White head with slightly bitter fruit aroma. Taste is a semi sweet, semi sour fruit, grassy with oily feel. Mostly smooth dry finish.

On par with the other ’big’ craft brewers pils’. Enjoyable but nothing stood out...maybe thats a better thing than I am giving it credit for.

Pours gold with a dense white head. Grainy and fruity aroma. The flavor is clean and crisp with bisquit, peach, and pear notes. Medium body with a smooth refreshing palate. High carbonation level. Dry finish.

Pours a cloudy straw yellow color with a white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of pear, grain, and lemon. Great body for a pils. Flavor of grain, pear, and lemon. Very nice for a pilsner.

This is my first "new" DFH beer since my semi-retirement from rating in the last couple of years. What better way to go than a Czech Pils (for some reason listed as a generic Pils on the site) brewed with pear juice and pear tea (whatever the heck that is)? Very niced pour here, a golden body with myriad bubbles rushing up to support a stately, creamy head. Chunks of "lace" coat the sides of the glass (of course, a Pilsener glass) as I drink. The aroma has a soft grainy sweetness, some grassy hops, and a touch of fresh pears. Very smooth mouthfeel. The flavor has a light grainy sweetness and a touch of the grassy hops (I’d expected more). There’s no trace of the pear juice or tea (?) until the finish, and I’m not sure if it’s really there or only a product of label suggestion. This is certainly a repeatable beer, sliding down so easily on a warm June night. Not great, but quite good.

Bottle. Hazy straw colored pour. Aroma of saaz hops, pear and white grape. Taste is a pleasant sweetness coupled with a nice saaz counterpart and some pear. I enjoyed this one a lot.

Hazy yellow-orange with medium white head. Aroma grassy and fruity. Medium-light body. Just a little carbonation. Flavor is a little sweet up front, fruity although I can’t claim to pick up any pear specifically. Transitions to light herbal/floral hops with dry crisp finish although not too bitter. Good.

Curiosity killed the cat. By Dogfish Head standards this is pretty tame. Very smooth and refreshing while grilling in the heat of South Georgia. Nice balance between the sweet malt and the crisp Saaz hops. The pear is not really apparent yet, it lends a nice fruitiness to the overall picture.

12 ounce bottle served in a Goose Island pint glass. Pretty decent pilsner.

This is by far my favorite pilsner through everything I’ve tried. It’s clean, crisp and goes down easy Not much carbonation to this, though the head was a little foamy. The beer really comes into it’s own after letting it breathe for 20-30 minutes. Strongly recommend this.
