Long Island, NY - 12 oz. bottle poured a clear blind color with lots of fluffy head and good lacing. Aroma is classic pilsner with a hint of something sweet. Taste is full of saaz hops and a good malt backbone. This reminds me of traditional pils from Europe. However, DFH has decided to add a sweet touch to it. Nice brew, very nice!

Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden orange color with banana yellow edges and a one finger white head that quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Streaks and spots of soapy lacing left behind. Earthy, floral aroma with dank, grassy hops, pale malt and light fruit sweetness. This surprisingly smells very true to style. Coming from DFH I wasnít expecting it to smell so much like a classic Czech Pils. The nose is dominated by the uber-fresh, grassy saaz hops followed by hints of bread, biscuit and ester-y notes of apple and pear. Slightly herbal but the tea and pear sweetness donít really stand out until it warms up considerably. On the lighter end of medium body with a blast of bitter, grassy hops that lingers over the pale malt, light fruit notes and subtle herbal tea presence into a dry finish. Again, the saaz hops really stand out with dry, sticky bitterness, earthy grass and pine needle flavor. This is countered by hints of bread, biscuit, apple and pear. The tea adds an odd metallic, medicinal note that lingers long after the finish. Pear flavor doesnít stand out much more than the ester-y notes of a traditional example of the style. I wasnít sure what to expect going in but this was a pretty tame experiment. Very similar to classic czech pils with plenty of grassy hop bitterness and a touch more light fruit sweetness than usual. The only element that negatively stands out is the astringent, herbal tea character. Unfortunately, this negatively affects the flavor and hurts drinkability. Still, this is an okay beer thatís easy to drink.

Thanks to INBe. I though that the subtle pear in this worked. Gave it. A soft fruity sweetness with out being overwhelming. Serving bottle ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle pours a hazy golden color with a frothy white head that lasts and leaves a ring of lacing. Aroma has grass, floral hops, tea and a bit of pear juice, which makes this a very different pilsener. Taste is sweet (thanks to the pear juice) with a dry finish. Body is light to medium with average carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Easily drinkable if you donít mind tea in your beer. A refreshing pilsener with a new twist. Iím glad I picked up 4 of these when I found them on sale.

Poured into a pils glass. 4.25 A: Lightly hazed light orange color. One finger of frothy/creamy off-white head. Retention is good and a large ring of lacing is left. 4.25 S: Quite an interesting take on the pils. Grainy neutral maltiness. Grassy and earthy hops. A touch of herbalness. Pear complements extremely well. 4.25 T: Taste is just as good. The pear comes out more prominently in the taste and again it fits right in. Grainy neutral maltiness. Grassy and earthy hops. Well done. 4.25 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly creamy and super smooth. 4.25 D: Iím surprised how good of a beer this is. It wouldnít be an everyday pils, but its a damn good stray from the norm. ★ 710 characters DavoleBomb, Apr 05, 2014

Bottle pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is floral/perfumy with notes of fresh cut grass, white pear, honeysuckle, and bready malt. Flavor is strange. Oversteeped tea tannin and syrupy pear mixed with herbal hops and bready malt. Definitely not my cup of tea (pun intended). Overall body is moderate and the finish is bitter.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a murky golden hue with a frothy yet bubbly white head and plentiful streaky lacing. Nose is grassy malt with a hint of lemon zest. Refreshingly smooth, bitter-sweet tasting Pils, with a bit of pear on the back end. Although Iím a bit of a Hop-Head Iím enjoying this little number.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World Of Beer in Pooler, GA. This beer has a hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma is full of hops and malt, very nice smell. The flavor is once again hops with a great flavor. Another enjoyable beer from Dogfish Head.

Bottle at a BBQ, 8/8/2015
The pear is subtle, but noticeable. It adds a bit of sweetness to the fairly clean and drinkable pilsener that lies underneath. Solid.
