Aroma- A light fruitiness (If I didnít know it was brewed with Pear juice, Iím not sure i wouldíve picked it out as pear). Light citrus, herb, and earthy, peppery hops. Bready malts. Taste- Light grapefruit, pear, bready malts, cracker, big tea notes, and slight earthy hop. Sometimes a lemony flavor is there as well. Bready, tea-like aftertaste. Overall- I was most impressed by the characteristics brought in by the tea, but the balance was well worth remembering as well. I loved the subtle grapefruit and earthy hop presence that popped in and out. Probably as complex as a lighter beer can get. Iíve never been much of a Pilsener man, but if I ever get the urge, this is what Iím buying.

12 oz bottle...golden with a small off white head...aroma is of mild hops and a little bit of pear on the swirl...it has a creaminess to the body...bitter tea finish and the rest is pretty simple nice balance of hops and malts...not a ton of pear, which I donít mind!

Two bottles at Cleveland Heath poured into a shaker pint. Golden with a little haze and some foam. A lot of fruit and sweetness in this beer along with some European hops that have just a little sulfur. A pleasant beer and all of the fruit definitely makes this different.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Sweet heavy pear aroma. Flavor is (fortunately) much more balanced, with pear worked in with pilsener malts and light spicy citrusy hoppiness. Doesnít smell great, but tastes pretty good.

On tap at Brunzies. Nice floral-fruity hop aroma, noble undertones. Deep golden amber clear with thin white lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with pilsener malt and biscuit notes. Stays sweet with some nice hop presence. Mild bitterness with smooth sweet finish and clean after.

Draft pour. Pours a clear yellow with a white head of foam. Good retention. The aroma has floral, grassy hop notes with just a touch of fruit. The taste is somewhat bitter, with a hint at the pear. Medium body and medium carbonation. Liked this much more than I expected.

12 oz bottle: Aroma has got a nice light Saaz hops overtone, and I can notice the tea like aroma, but really subtle with the pear scent,. Appearance is a clear golden with a thick white head that diminishes slowly. Taste has definitely got a pear in there (hey, that rhymes), nice hop overtone with a light and juicy aftertaste. Overall, Good stuff. Cheers!

My wife brought home a four pack of this - itís been a while since Iíve had a DFH beer - at first, I was like, "cool, a pils" - then I realized that this was DFH so they must have done something to fuck it up - "pear juice and pear tea? Sonofabitch." - expectations were pretty low after that, so maybe thatís why I am actually enjoying this somewhat - pear is very mild in the nose, and actually works well with the moderate mineral character present - the saaz hops add a nice spice - flavor is clean pils malt, mild mineral, spicy saaz, and a mild pear and herbal character - itís nothing special, but itís a crisp and interesting beer, especially if you try not to think of it as a pils.
