Aroma- A light fruitiness (If I didn’t know it was brewed with Pear juice, I’m not sure i would’ve picked it out as pear). Light citrus, herb, and earthy, peppery hops. Bready malts. Taste- Light grapefruit, pear, bready malts, cracker, big tea notes, and slight earthy hop. Sometimes a lemony flavor is there as well. Bready, tea-like aftertaste. Overall- I was most impressed by the characteristics brought in by the tea, but the balance was well worth remembering as well. I loved the subtle grapefruit and earthy hop presence that popped in and out. Probably as complex as a lighter beer can get. I’ve never been much of a Pilsener man, but if I ever get the urge, this is what I’m buying.

12 oz bottle from Total Wine.
Hazy dark golden, tight white head and nice lacing. Maybe too dark and hazy for the style.
Aroma is bready malts, fruit juice, grassy hops.
Flavor is soft bready malt, sweet fruit juice, tea, spicy hop bitterness. Quite tasty.

A: Dark gold pour with a 1 finger head of tight pillowy head. Light Carbonation. Decent retention and good patterns of lace left. S: Almost nothing but a little fruit. More grape than pear. T: Dry, fizzy and juicy. Not bad but more like a Kolsch. No hops register in smell or taste to me. Pear is also pretty subdued. M: Light, champagne carbonation. I like champagne and Kolsch beers so what’s not to like? A bit sticky on the finish though which seems out of place. O: Interesting but too expensive generally and too strong for the style. If you like Kolsch beers though, you wil love this. However if I want a Kolsche I’ll buy one. Recommended mostly as a new experience.

The smoothest beer I've ever tasted. Plus, it has some some flavor for benefits. It's not enough for me, it tastes bland.

Smooth Oh my goodness smooth. It’s sweet and flavorful for a pilsner. Not particularly refreshing but I like it.

Looks good, maybe a bit dark color-wise, but a nice frothy white head formed in my pilsener glass. The pear juice is there, but for me that wasn’t really a good thing. I liked the spritzy dry bite up front, but then the slightly juicy feel and sweetness were just a little much at the 1/2 to finish point.

(Rating #6150)

Super mellow. I expected it to be sweeter but it's a very smooth beer. It's also light of flavor. It's an ok beer but not Dogfish Heads best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. fridge temp, hazy orange beer. Nose is bitter orange peel, intense hops and a sweet juicy tone. Not bad, apple or grape juice is present. light european hops, the finish is a bit unrefined but overall, not a bad beer.

Surprisingly juicy! The aroma is pretty spicy (probably tea) with hops and some fruit notes. The taste is very juicy with lots of the saaz hop flavor and some other fruit flavors and faint malt--although, I can’t really distinguish the pear. The finish is nice and crisp and clean. Overall, it’s really tasty for a pilsner, but it still is a pilsner.

Bottle. Pours a clear, pale yellow. Fizzy white head leaves decent lacing. Aroma is of grassy hops, some spice, and pale malts. Flavor is of light grain sweetness, light hops and dry pear. Crisp and relatively dry, with medium carbonation and some mild bitterness.
