tokyogoat (505), San Diego, California, USA Oct 4, 2009 Pours an orangy copper color with a smll white head.
Nose is strong on holiday pie spices.
Taste is a little syrupy, but not in a bad way, karo syrup, generic pie spices, nuts, and hint of vanilla make it a very decent "pumpkin" beer, and one of the better DFH beers i’ve bought. yinzerbeernut (39), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 4, 2009 Amber in color with an off white head that tried to make every effort to stick around. Minuscule lace. Dogfish known for hops managed to allow a slight hop showing mixed in with the pumpkin and spice flavors. Light medium mouthfeel with a dry finish that does linger slightly. Easy drinking and at 7% alcohol you will stay cozy on autumn evenings. hellomisterp (32), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 3, 2009 bottle. This one is drowned by a ton of Nutmeg from beginning to the dry finish end. Not my cup of pumpkin. syton98 (40), USA Oct 3, 2009 A nice surprize. I have had other pumkin beers where all you can taste is the pumkin and it was not pleasent. This beer the pumkin is balanced with spices, nutmeg and cinnamon, to make it enjoyable. Dink one by the outside fire place on a crisp fall night killjoy966 (215), Washington, USA Oct 2, 2009 Kind of a golden-y lager color. I haven’t had too many pumpkin ales, but I suppose I expected more "pumpkin" flavor. Some nice spice flavors come through but not much in the aroma department. Pretty decent brown ale. monkeychugg55 (213), Joliet, Illinois, USA Oct 2, 2009 Pours an orange amber with small white head that lasts a little while. The aroma is faint pumpkin, sweet malt, and light spices. The flavor is similar, but also has a dry finish that I didn’t like. Too sweet and too dry for my tastes. ALCOHOLNIZM (59), WARWICK, USA Oct 2, 2009 FIRST OFF THIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST DOGFISH BREWS I EVER DRANK AND IT WAS QUITE SOME TIME AGO, MY MEMORY TELLS ME THAT IT WAS AWESOME , HOWEVER AFTER HAVING A FEW OTHER PUMPKIN ALES FROM DIFFERENT BREWERS SINCE IVE GROWN SICK OF THE STYLE AND NEVER FOUND ONE I REALLY ENJOYED . NOW THAT ITS IN SEASON I GRABED A PACK AND HERES MY THOUGHTS, THIS BEER IS PROBABLY BETTER THAN I REMEMBERED IT TO BE, THE DIFFERENCE THAT THE BREWERY MADE FROM OTHER PUMPKIN ALES IS, THE ROASTING OF THE PUMPKINS, WHICH BRINGS OUT THE SWEETNESS OF THE FRUIT WONDERFULLY AND THE AMOUNT OF SPICES IN THIS BEER ARE PERFECT THE CINNAMON AND NUTMEG COMPLIMANTE THE PUMPKIN TO CREATE AN AMAZING FLAVOR, THIS BEER IS NO DOUBT THE MICHEAL JORDAN OF PUMPKIN ALE’S.. chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA Oct 2, 2009 Aroma of pumpkin pie, cinnamon, and other spices, reminded me of a fresh baked pumpkin pie. Flavor was dominated by cinnamon and not much pumpkin. Overall, great version of this style.
