Nice flavor up front, spicy taste, just the right amount of pumpkin. Sweet, brown sugar. Cinnamon. A bit thin on the finish, body is a little weak. Could use some more fullness on the mouthfeel, a bit overcarbonated, as some have noted. Slight presence of alcohol. Finish while weak on flavor is bitter.

Amber color with small head. Lots of pumpkin on the aroma. Good malt backbone. The pumpkin spices are great, but I would like them to be a little more balanced. Mouthfeel is a little watery and alcohol is not very well hidden. But make no mistake: I’ll drink it, and lots of it at that. mburmei1 (7), Atlanta, Georgia, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2009 I’m a real pumpkin fan so this was a treat for that reason. Especially considering the last pumpkin ale (which will not be named here) was utterly terrible.
Alright, here we go:
Appearance is an orange-amber with faint cloudiness. Aroma is pumpkin dominated with some nutmeg. Mouthfeel is very smooth. The aromas translate very well into the taste, along with some banana, and some cinnamon. astrofrk (218), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Pours orange colored body. Nice white foamy head. Good level of carbonation. Aroma contains lots of spices. Not overpowering, but just the nice aromatic level. Flavor profile is interesting. First and foremost its laden with lots of "punkin" spices, especially nutmeg. Underlying flavor of pumpkin. Hops are not so prevelent. What’s interesting is that this is one of the four all-year-round beers from Dogfish that Bevmo is apparently carrying. While its a good beer, I’m perplexed why they’d choose this one over 60 min IPA. Still, any Dogfish you can get is a good Dogfish!! hillfiiiiire (284), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2009 Orange amber body with a thin white head. Actually did this up against my homebrewed pumpkin beer. Spicy vegetable aroma. Not too much pumpkin. The flavor is alright, but not too exciting. Some pumpkin comes through in the finish. Finishes kind of dry. Tolerable. My homebrew was decidedly better. ketchepillar (478), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Not very much pumpkin and the spices and brown sugar just make a muddled mess. I can kinda tell there’s a pumpkin pie character to it, but it’s not very good. Vegetal. jb (1034), Rochester, New York, USA

Nice looking, pumpkin colored, thick head, spicy aroma, mostly pumpkin pie but was a tiny bit hoppier than some of these. I liked it but more than 1 at a time would be too much.
