| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours an orangish copper in color with a plentiful tan head. The aroma is spicy yet sweet with just a touch of pumpkin. It is lightly hopped allowing for more of a Pumpkin Pie flavor to dominate. It does have somewhat of a tart note, but finishes heavy on spice. It has a light and creamy body with a spicy yet clean finish. BillWyce (95), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Fall ’08 bottling: poured orange-amber
with a good-sized light tan head. Light aroma of malt with a mild spiciness. Smooth, slightly creamy palate. A slight hops undertone accompanies a mild pumpkin flavor. Spicy note lingers on the tongue. This style is one that is typically either loved or hated...if you enjoy pumpkin ales, this is one of the best. Steib (574), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Big rounded carbonated head. Medium colored orange. Aroma is malty, no real spicy pumpkin aroma comes through. The flavor comes through nicely though. Creamy, just the right spices and of course pumpkin flavor. Ends crisp clean a little acidic. Of of the best examples. troopie (865), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Draught. Poured very dark brown with thick off white head. Aroma of malt and pumplins. More pumpkin in the flavour, with notes of sugar and malt. Lasting pumpkin finish. This one does not lie about being a pumpkin ale. But although it was good of type, I believe I will pass in the future. jimbowood (950), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 29, 2008 bottle. Considering the fact that I pour out 3/4 of every dfh beer I buy, these things are really expensive. Consistently terrible brews. No good. oh6gdx (8838), Vasa, Finland
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Bottled (big thanks PilsnerPeter!). Amber colour, small head. Aroma is spices, hops and that’s about it. Flabvour is brown xmas cookies, some slight acidic fruityness as well as spices. As it warms up lots of pumpkin and spices, which also dominate the aftertaste. A very Christmassy beer, though not "made exclusively" for that season. tarheels86 (731), Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Pours a crystal clear dark orange or light amber with no head. Very low carbonation. Aroma is maple candy, cinnamon, nutmeg. Taste is less spicy and more earthy/herbal with a big slam of pumpkin seed, brown sugar, and hop resin in the beginning. Little touch of warming, spicy alcohol in the beginning as well. Mouthfeel is a little buttery. Aftertaste is roasted pumpkin seed. Overall nicely balanced wit the hops and thus not too sweet. Best pumpkin ale I have ever tried- but I’m not sure if that is saying much. badlizard (2338), Berkeley, California, USA
