Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Oct 23, 2008 There are a lot of ways to flavor a pumpkin beer. Some of them are more natural, some of them are just really sweet, and this one is really rich and spicy. So, if you’re a candle person you’ll probably like this beer. Also, it’s a way to be festive and also be drinking a 7% beer. Flavor here is of light, raw pumpkin, and then heavily (not overly) spiced with a nice balance of cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, and pumpkin pie spice (which I think is just inclusive of allspice). Drinkable, but dangerous. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 22, 2008 Poured into a pint glass. The bottle says this is a brown ale but the color is decidedly light amber. Crystal clear with a frothy white head that sticks to the glass nicely.
Aroma is heavy on the cinnamon and brown malts. The other spices are more understated.
Flavor profile has a bread dough base with clear pumpkin flesh influence and notes of allspice and a bit of nutmeg.
Mouthfeel is well-carbonated and medium-bodied. Sweet clean aftertaste, very little hoppiness, semi-dry finish. Very very drinkable. ealdent (44), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Oct 22, 2008 Slight hint of pumpkin and alcohol in the aroma and flavor. Nutmeg overpowers it though, and leaves a residue on the tongue, which felt like an interference. Good not great. clong83 (243), San Diego, California, USA Oct 21, 2008 Good beer. Nose of sweet caramel malts. Flavor has deep caramel and brown sugar tones. Pumpkin doesn’t dominate, it’s actually somewhat in the background, but adds a pleasant flavor. A little spicy, and the alcohol comes through. Solid offering. bierkoning (5985), La Tropica, Netherlands Oct 21, 2008 Bottle from Lithy, thanks! Brown color. Pumpkin, cinanmon and nutmeg in the aroma. Sweetish, spicy flavor with pumpkin. Alcoholic. Just a bit thin and sugary. Too sweet and spicy to be enjoyable. Miamifan1354 (19), , Delaware, USA Oct 20, 2008 Updated: Oct 29, 2008From bottle to Pint Glass. Aggressive pour showed a nice orange color with a short lived white head. Smells of hopps, pumpkin and cinnamon. Best pumpkin taste I’ve ever had in a beer. Also tastes of cloves and cinnamon. Tessic (439), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Oct 19, 2008 This pumpkin ale poured a dark orange colour with a quick living off white head.
To the nose there are scents of hopps, allspice, pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. First taste was full of flavour. Flavours of hopps, spice, coffee, and a little cocoa. Finish is hoppy with spicey flavours lingering. Palate is slightly bitter with flavours of allspice and nutmeg lasting.
dnlsartin (68), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 18, 2008 A festive, tasty brown ale. Light amber color, medium-bodied, sweet-yet-subtle brown sugar and spices. Overall, a mild, delightful dessert beer.
