I really enjoyed this beer. 12 oz bottle. pumpkin flavor is definitely background, which makes it kind of nice because it is still beer, not pumpkin juice. as it warms up in the glass there are more and more pumpkin pie aromas and the flavors intensify somewhat. the brown ale by itself would be good, but the spices and pumpkin add nice depth.

Not a strong pumpkin taste, more brown ale. It was watery and not very thick. Had a metallic finish. I like more spicy pumpkin beers, not very impressed; however, masked 7% abv well. Expensive, not worth buying agian.

A kind of thin copper, heavily carbonated appearance on the pour with good head development. Smells strongly of pumpkin spice and rich, sweet malts. Taste is very subtle, nutmeg and smoked wood in the back of the throat with pumpkin and a slight spiciness around the edges. A little waterier than I was expecting. I like a rich, deep pumpkin brew, and this wasn’t it.

On tap @ Dogfish Alehouse Falls Church. Clear amber with a small off white head. Pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice aroma. Flavor is about the same, lots of sweet pumpkin flavors with some hop bitterness thrown in, no detectable alcohol taste. Medium body with mild carbonation and a soft thick mouth feel. Pretty good as far as pumpkin beers go.

Poured amber/brown with a white head that slowly dissipated. Smells and tastes of pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon. Delicious, but somewhat overpriced at just over $10 for a 4-pack.

Looks exactly like a pumpkin when poured, it is orange with dark brown hints throughout and holds onto an off-white head for a little bit. The smell is quite nice and includes hints of cinnamon, apple spice, and a dash of pumpkin. The taste is a little lacking for my liking since I always enjoy a nice strong beer with a kick. It is somewhat watery and tastes like a good light ale with a hint of pumpkin spice and cinnamon.

This beer poured a nice amber color with an orange hint that reminded me of pumpkins. It was pretty transparent and had a nice head that collapsed to a fizzy film. It smelled of...SURPRISE!...pumpkins. It also had a nice little spice from the nutmeg and auxiliary spices in the beer. It was also slightly sweet from the brown sugar in the brew. It had a very classis lager taste with a pumpkin aftertaste that lingered quite nicely for a while. It also had a slight tinge of spicy and sweet. The texture was very fizzy - it had nice carbonation to it. It was rather smooth and easily downable. It had a very nice flow of flavors from lager, to all the subingredients, to the pumpkin.

Pours clear, pumpkin orange, with a lasting medium cream-colored head, very fine lacing. Spicy aroma, pumpkin, toast, caramel, with some earthy and grassy notes. Medium body, velvety and crisp. Not very sweet, herbal and pumpkin notes dominate the flavor, allspice and nutmeg come through pretty clearly, with some lingering vegetable gourd, grass and earth flavors. Mild bitter finish. Even though it’s not syrupy, it would still be hard to drink very much, due to the strength of the flavors. Cheers to the guys at Dogsfish Head for giving pumpkin ale some style.
