dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Sep 21, 2008 Had high hopes of finding a Pumpkin beer that wasn’t thin and bland tasting. This one isn’t much better than the low end pumpkin beers. I was hoping for a bit of a sweeter/stronger brew to help balance out the spices that are very present in this beer. Not a winner from dogfish head. douglas88 (1559), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Sep 20, 2008 Bottle thanks to zathrus13, who sent this beer via footbalm. Thanks man. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white bubbly head. The aroma is full of sweet pumpkin notes, some spices, and a bit of malts. Interestingly, tha flavor has a large hop profile along with pumpkin and loads of spices. The finish is mostly bitter with a somewhat off-putting alcohol bite. Not bad at all. An interesting take on the style. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 20, 2008 Dark clear amber pour thin khaki head. Nutmeg and malts on the nose. Bitter up front with a light pumpkin finish. Im not a big fan of pumpkin beers, but this was decent stangger (155), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Dark brown pour... aroma of pumpkin pie, semi-spicy. Taste is a blend of spices - nutmeg, some cinammon with pumpkin undertones. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Good Pumpkin ale. Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Sep 20, 2008 Pours light copper orange with a small white head. Nose is lightly pumpkin, with nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is similar with some additional spice and sweetness, though not overly so (like some other pumpkin beers). Overall, a nice seasonal offering from DFH. highibus (421), Mill Creek, Washington, USA Sep 20, 2008 a very nice orange copper color with thin white head. aroma is fantastik. pumpkin and spice really come through. flavor not as strong pumpkin but nice. also very smooth with a nice finish.
good beer. stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Sep 19, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of daknole. Pours a copper color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is light but true to pumpkin pie. The flavor is also true to pumpkin pie with cinnamon, clove, vanilla and nutmeg, all set in a sweet backdrop. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and creamy. The finish was long and sweet with lingering brown sugar. Overall: A first rate pumpkin beer. Recommended. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Sep 19, 2008 Pours light brown, smells like pumpkin pie. Lots of brown sugar and ginger, pumpkin flavor. Sweet. A bit too much carbonation, some stinging alcohol there also which is uncharacteristic for a DFH brew. Average at best.
