nbutler11 (731), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 18, 2008 Pours a cooper color from the tap with a frothy off-white head. Smells faintly of brown sugar and pumpkin which continue into the flavor along with cinammon, nutmeg, slight clove, and flour. I was suprised not to find any cream or filling in the taste. Crisp, but bitters as it warms. NaturalIce (115), originally from Michigan, New York, USA Sep 17, 2008 12oz bottle poured into glass; Pours out transparent dark pumpkin orage with a little white head. The aroma is defintely the best part of this beer - pumpkin and spice with a hint of brown sugar. Traditional flavor and palate of a pumpkin ale...nothing special. I’d have to say the 7% alc/vol makes this beer better than it actually is! FlssmrBrewAlum (1081), Lisle, Illinois, USA Sep 17, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of the Binny’s singles rack (Orland Park, IL). Pours a darker fairly transparent amber with fairly prominent thick offwhite head that dissipates to a small film and laces a bit. Aromas are pumpkin and brown sugar, heavy on the brown sugar. Initial is medium bodied, sweetness and bitter hoppiness on the backend with a little pumpkin on the front and more of the cinnamon and nutmeg on the backend. Brown sugar more prominent in this pumpkin beer than I’ve noticed in any other pumpkin beer. A decent brew, a nice seasonal, but no Pumking. Cheers! danielcurtis81 (879), San Diego, California, USA Sep 16, 2008 Updated: Sep 18, 2008Bottle. Amber color with a little fizz. Probably the best Pumpkin Ale I’ve had. Cinnamon and brown sugar flavors add a lot. Tastes like a liquid low-fat pumpkin pie. oreogobbler (217), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 15, 2008 Pours a cloudy dark amber orange, tiny fizzy head, good carbonation. Smells of a beer battered pumpkin pie. I get pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, hops, wheat, brown sugar. A little sour and bitter up front, hop bitterness, pumpkin, spices. The palate is a bit thin, but easily drinkable.
I once made this beer into a gelato and it was delicious! WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 15, 2008 Ok so I just gotta say that i feel punkins have no business being in beer. I dont like it, at all. Yet every year i get this beer, its tradition. I dont like it, its very punkiny and the spices dominate. Its actually got a good strong flavor and its the only beer of the kind i would ever recomend, but spice beer is something I will never be fond of. rugbydude05 (280), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Sep 14, 2008 12 oz bottle, pours an orange-amber color with little head. Aroma is very fresh and the cinnamon spices are very evident with hints of fruit and some spearmint. Taste is sweet and bitter with noticeable alcohol content. Aftertaste is a little more bitter but very smooth on the palate. Overall very impressive brew- well suited for a fall day. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 14, 2008 Pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is of fresh baked pumpkin pie, carrots and bananna. Taste is sweet, not overly rich and pleasent all the way through.
