abcfan (247), New Jersey, USA Sep 8, 2008 Decent brew, but pales in comparison to the "King". Spicy pumpkin aroma, pours orange with creamy off-white head. decent flavor to this one, a little bit of spice, but nothing overwhelming. hellbilly (1502), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Sep 8, 2008 bottled 8/2/7 from machfive55... pours a clear rich copper with an almond cream colored head. smells somewhat like pumpkin pie or at least the spices which traditionally go into one... pumpkin comes off as earthy malty sweetness, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, clove and a little doughiness. flavor is similar but not nearly as prominent or robust. i can’t really pick out pumpkin but an earthy sweetness is there in the background?... spiced finish. medium to full body. super creamy texture like cool whip... smith4498 (829), Miami, Florida, USA Sep 8, 2008 Pours clear amber with off white head. Strong aromas of allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Similar flavors, not much pumpkin, but a good pumpkin beer. Medium body with average carbonation. noncaloric (602), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle, snifter. Aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg. The cinnamon comes off very much like bubblegum. Pours a clear amber-orange with a finger’s worth of off-white head. A film of tiny bubbles coats the glass with every sip. Flavors begin with bubblegum, turning to sweet-tangy malts (brown sugar, orange juice), and finishing again with spicyness. The nutmeg plays more of a role in the finish. If there’s any pumpkin here, it’s an only-sometimes perceptible earthiness to the finish. brdowney (4), Brighton, Massachusetts, USA does not count Sep 7, 2008 One of those beers that I wait for. I like the fact that the "pumpkin" flavor dose not overwhelm. I find the beer very balanced and drinkable. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 6, 2008 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Crystal clear amber color with great off white head with some orange hue to it, which leaves some nice lace. Smells like a nice nut brown with some nice hop notes, pumpkin notes, cinnamon, and nutmeg/clove notes (works well together) - my only complaint is that I wish the pumpkin and spice aromas held more of the ratio. The flavor is unique, but not what I expected. I am not getting that much pumpkin. It tastes like a solid nut brown ale (hops and roast malt) with just a hint of the pumpkin (etc.) in the background - good though. Alcohol is hidden well. Medium bodied on palate with right amount of carbonation (soft). Overall: great style that I hope too get more experience with soon (tis’ the season). heynik1885 (53), tonawanda, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 Pours a nice amber color. White two finger head. Some lacing around the glass. Not too much pumpkin flavor, although I did notice the cinnamon and nutmeg. I’m kinda disappointed in this one. Pretty much just like an oktoberfest. I was expecting a little bit more out of this one. afireinside96 (817), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 5, 2008 12oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Amber body topped by a small foamy head. Smells of doughy malt and light spice. Tastes like an Oktoberfest with an added touch of spice, just a hint of cinnamon. Can’t detect any pumpkin-esque flavors. Some alcohol is noticeable as it warms. A tad bit overcarbonated. Not bad if you aren’t dead set on it tasting like pumpkin.
