krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA Oct 31, 2007 12oz bottle. radiant copper color. thin quickly vanishing head leaves no lace. cinnamon nutmeg and clove stand on top of caramel malts. a clean and well rounded ale. pumpkin flavor is mild but well integrated. balanced by sweet and spicy characteristics. full rich palate with no stickiness. just enough hop bitterness on the finish. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Oct 30, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a clear orange with very thin white head which disappeared almost immediately, except for a little lingering on the glass. Spicy aroma of pumpkin and cinnamon. Taste is nutmeg with pumpkin and cinnamon added. Medium to thin mouthfeel with alcohol warmth in throat upon swallowing. Worth trying, but not a regular brew. Will save the last of the pack to let a relative try at Thanksgiving pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 26, 2007 I agree with the guy below.. pumpkin beers are fatally flawed. However, its tough to make the comparison against weyerbachers. melvin980 (184), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 24, 2007 This beer was decent. I think weyerbachers was slightly better, not much though. as a whole pumpkin beers are fatally flawed. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 24, 2007 The departure from the 12 ounce bottle produces a clear copper color with a stupendous off white creamy head that last longer than the energizer bunny, lacing is a solid sheet, which circumnavigates the glass. Nose is sweet with Pumpkin and spices like cinnamon and ginger and a touch of vanilla, quite a treat for the old schnozzle. Start has a nice pumpkin and malt sweetness, light bitterness at the back, top is light to medium in feel. Finish continues the sweet malt and spicy taste, the acidity plausible, aftertaste sweet and tart, a fine beer. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Oct 23, 2007 Updated: Sep 20, 2008Smells like a pumpkin pie, cinnamon and nutmeg, soaked in a clear alcohol. Pours clear amber. Flavor is the same, mostly Autumn spices, small pumpkin, and lost of alcohol. Something seemed astringent. It makes it presence feel much stronger than 7 %. It’s ok, but I like Buffalo Bills and Elysian Pumpkin much better. They are both more drinkable. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Oct 22, 2007 12 oz bottle from sicilianos in Grand Rapids, MI. Absolutely clear pale amber with small white head. Aroma is allspice with only a mild pumpkin aroma, alc, sweet malt. Allspice, mild pumpkin flavor with slight alc, medium sweetness, all very subdued. Medium to light body with slight burn. The only other pumpkin beer I’ve tried is ST pumpking and this pales to that beer. Maybe it’s because the flavors aren’t as pronounced as pumpkings. I will buy it again for thanksgiving. Very drinkable. whiterabbit81 (243), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 22, 2007 Aroma of pumpkin pie - cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and brown sugar. Medium brown, witha very small head. Flavor is initally a tad alcoholy, followed by a strong dose of the spices and finished wiith a sweet, brown sugar flavor. A lick of the lips leaves a sweet sensation in the mouth. Lingering sweetness and vanilla flavor. Quite good for pumpkin ale, but not something i’d want more than 3-4 a year, and only seasonally.
