Appearance: Clear amber color with a frothy, off-white head. Very good head retention.
Aroma: Earthy pumpkin notes with cinnamon and nutmeg. Fairly straightforward, which is a little unusual for this brewery.
Flavor: Sturdy pumpkin notes with spice and light brown sugar. I feel like the alcohol stands out a bit much in this one. Light in flavor, but heavy in body.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a rich, chewy mouthfeel and a medium-short, spiced finish.
Overall: Given the light flavors I would prefer a little less body. Still, it isn’t a bad pumpkin ale. DeadGirl (215), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Pours clear, orange-y amber from the 12oz. bottle: I always have high expectations for DFH, so this one’s got me a bit disappointed. It misses that "punch" of generous flavors that I love about sugary, fall beers. Pumpkin (surprise!), cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and brown sugar swirl around a notable alcoholic feel. Drinkability: Sweet and good. A bit too mellow compared to it’s "pumpkin brew" counterparts. Rebuy: Sure. #161 on 25102009, DG. mjs (1463), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 (Draught) Poured amber and clear. Had small white head. Aroma was of spices and malts. Medium palate had medium carbonation. There was malts, spices and bitterness in taste. Spiceness and bitterness continued in aftertaste. ansermadide (507), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Sampled at Flying Saucer’s Second Annual Fall Beer Festival in Austin on October 24, 2009. Yellow amber color, smells like candy! Aroma of delectability, light and slightly syrupy. I don’t taste pumpkin. That’s actually a good thing. Fevernova (44), Ohio, USA

Good level of sweetness, but I feel a little heavy handed with spice. SamGamgee (1429), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 24, 2009 12oz bottle at K&L. Orange with an off-white head. Heavily spiced and sweet aroma with nutmeg making itself known. The flavor is also heavily spiced, medium sweet, and not too heavy on the malt or hop flavor. Actual pumpkin is there but seems light compared to the spice, which makes this seem more like a pumpkin-spice cookie in liquid form. Medium bodied. Interesting take on the style, and I like where they went with it, though it is still a bit messy. jbender (22), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Amber appearance with a little white head. Has an aroma with pumpkin, cinnamon, and clove. Has good carbonation with a medium body. Has a pumpkin and spice flavor. Pumpkin dominated beer but drinkable for those that aren’t big pumpkin beer fans (like myself). jkaiser (219), Orlando, Florida, USA
