Pours a crystal clear dark amber with a robust head. ...beautiful. but for me it was downhill from there. Taste was not bad, balanced but I had better pumkin beers. Pallet is thin and crisp, with a tad wack aftertaste that I find common in this type of beer. Not bad, but with CC Good Gourd, UFO and S. Tiers offerings, I wont want this again.

better than other pumpkin ales i’ve tried, but that’s because the others suck. this is one of DFH’s weaker offerings. still pretty good. there’s a bitter brown ale behind the pumpkin, but if you really like pumpkin, this one’s not enough for you. a tiny bit underwhelming, but worth trying. 9/09- after having on tap and cask conditioned (4+), both of which really bring out the pumpkin, I’m no longer underwhelmed. On cask it’s fantastic. Either way (even in the bottle) a very good seasonal brew, but the pumpkin really comes out more on tap."

Spicy flavors dominate with clove and nutmeg. Clearish orange with no head - sherry like. Taste is spice dominated, like all of these types. Moderate bitterness with some spritzy carbonation aspects on the end.

I love the balance of spice with the subtle pumpkin flavor. The body is light enough that you can enjoy several without feeling too full. This is a very well balanced beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours a dark golden with tinges of orange. The head has orange tinges as well. There is little lacing. The is a strong aroma of allspice, nutmeg, pumpkin, cinnamon, and tinges of brown sugar. It has a strong cinnamon, spices, brown sugar, and pumpkin, mixed with malts.

Aroma: spices, pumpkin, nutmeg. Appearance: slightly hazy gold, small, white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: initially some sweets continue, grain, bread, then bitters coming up, some acidity. Overall: nice pumpkin ale, great aroma. Pint at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station, San Diego.

2014 bottle with the new label that looks like something out of the woodland winter Christmas. BLOOD ORGY!! Nice balance between pumpkin spices and beer. Nutmeg, cinnamon and spices. Not bad.

Pours a dull copper with limited and quickly dissipating head. Aroma is allspice and nutmeg with a hint of malt and pumpkin. Spicy on the palate and loosely effervescent. Medium body with the cinnamon and brown sugar coming through the malts. Decent and drinkable brown ale with the fall's character spices pulling in the background. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

There is an odd baked bitterness to this beer. Not like a hop bitterness, just skunky. Wow, first Dogfish I haven't liked. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
