Pours a crystal clear dark amber with a robust head. ...beautiful. but for me it was downhill from there. Taste was not bad, balanced but I had better pumkin beers. Pallet is thin and crisp, with a tad wack aftertaste that I find common in this type of beer. Not bad, but with CC Good Gourd, UFO and S. Tiers offerings, I wont want this again.

Solid. Spicy Banana-y aroma fills the air as soon as it’s poured. Strong spicy bubblegum aroma. Very flavorful with a smooth finish, carbonation adds a little prickleyness though. Flavor - get a lot of bubblegum, cinnamon, thanksgiving spices, pretty hearty as a whole. Yummy!!

Cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, mild herbaceous bitterness, flashes of mild citrus, chalky brown sugar. Little overcarbed for my taste.

Transfer from BA review on 9-10-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours an orange-amber color with a thick two finger off-white head. The head has very good retention, eventually fading to give a light level of lacing. Smell – The smell is a nice blend of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar/molasses. Like a sweet piece of cold pumpkin pie. Taste – The taste starts out of pumpkin and some cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg spice. As the flavor moves on, it sweetens some, with flavors of a caramel and a brown sugar taste coming to the tongue. These sweeter flavors when mixed with the pumpkin and spice create a very pleasant taste on the tongue. More toward the end of the taste, the spice and sweet intensify and combined with a light hop taste, to leave a tasty pumpkin pie flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – Medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation. Both were good for the pumpkin, sweet and spicy flavors. A little more creaminess may have given it an enhancement; giving it more of the silky pumpkin pie feel, but regardless, the mouthfeel was good overall. Overall – Good and tasty pumpkin brew. I wish it was available for more than just one season.

It had a honey amber color with very good clarity. The head that was produced was light tan in color, average in size and slowly settled down to a thin covering. Lacing was spotty and it quickly slid down the glass. The aroma was full of spicy clove, cinnamon and nutmeg. It has decent pumpkin flavor up front with a good solid malty body. Hints of sweet brown sugar, pumpkin pie spices and vanilla notes mix in well and add a good, well balanced complexity. It finishes on the sweet side and slowly with mild spicy hops and mild warmth from its 7%abv. The palate has a slick, smooth texture with medium to full body and lively carbonation.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into pint glasses and mugs for as many times as I’ve had this. The appearance was a nice hazy dark brown color with some light orange tinges along the sides. There was a nice white to off white one finger foamy head that dissipates within about a minute and left some nice lacing. The smell had an abundance of pumpkin spices and letting some light ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and adding in the qualities of a roasty nutty Brown Ale. The taste was mainly sweet and roasty adding a fairly decent nutty quality in it as well. On the palate, it sat about a medium in body and a slight sessionable quality about it. The carbonation seems fairly subdued but still okay for the style. Overall, I say this is one of the best Pumpkin Ales on the market these days.

Rich on the spices. Slight caramel and bread flavor. Pumpkin is present but not overpowering.

Bottle (12oz): I usually don’t like pumpkin ale, but enjoyed this very much, enough to buy 2 more 6 packs. The pumpkin is there but not over powering

One of the finer pumpkin ales on the market. I’ve found this to pour a reddish brown color, with spices on the nose. Cinnamon, ginger, brown sugar, and nutmeg are all present on the palate, with allspice lingering on the finish.

(US 2012 backlogged in abstinentia) Draught@Kickshaw, Astoria/Queens. Quite thin-bodied despite heavy reliance on roasted caramel, boiled candy sugar (reminiscent of Gulden Draak), bringing in milk chocolate notes, upstaging the undercurrent of cinnemon-spiced vegetable broth underneath. Surprised to find some hop bitterness on top of all that. A drinkable, straight example of the redoubtable seasonal pumpkin style.

Not what I expected from Dogfish, usually their offerings are great but the punkin was a letdown.
