Aroma - the aroma makes it clear this is a spiced beer. smells like liquid pumpkin pie. Appearance - Brown in color with medium to low head retention. Taste - Follows the lead of the nose. Lots of spice happening. Allspice, brown sugar and nutmeg are very prominent. I got more spice than pumpkin from this beer and a touch of alcohol heat on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with low carbonation. has a cleaner finish than expected for a spiced beer. Overall - much better than i anticipated and i will be sure to pick this up again before the season is over. would recommend to the adventurous or the pumpkin pie lover.

One of my favorite pumpkin beers. Heavy in spices and pumpkin tastes. It is perfect for fall when the weather gets colder and you need Dogfish Head to bring the flavor.

On tap at The Hopping Pig in San Diego. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Aroma is slight pumpkin and slight malt. Nutmeg also. No pumpkin pie sweetness. Fairly dry. Ok but not my favorite in the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft poured in pint glass. Aroma was a little lacking, no head. Tastes light a "light" pumpkin beer. Overall, for a seasonal, Id recommend.

Well-balanced spice aroma, amber color, pleasing bitterness along with a complex but, again, balanced spice palette. Definitely NOT pumpkin pie filling in a bottle, this is a good representative for this seasonal staple.

Bottle. Pours amber. White head. Aroma is spice. Flavor is of caramel and spice. To me this is a brown that has been tweaked into a pumpkin beer. Its got all the seasonal pumpkin attributes, but still is a very solid beer. Very enjoyable.
