4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Pours a pale amber. Mellow pumpkin aroma, with sharp contrast of clove and nutmeg underneath. Warm clove up front followed by appreciable hop bitterness. Smooth finish of malt and pumpkin with kick of alcohol at the very end. Rich, medium-bodied mouthfeel. Spicy and complex, this is a great contrast to a number of the pumpkin ales on the market now.

Incredible deep orange amber clear color and spicy aroma with a full bodied flavor redolent of fall days spent baking.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Punkin Ale pours a mostly clear copper yellow orange with a thin beige head that doesn’t last too long. The aroma is pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg. The flavor is pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg as well. Overall this is a lovely beer. The pumpkin and spices mix well together and drinks very smoothly.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Offwhite head. Floral hop aroma mixed with punkin pie. Signature dogfish hopness with a just subtle enough fresh Punkin pie flavor. The best of this style I have had to date. The key is that it’s not over flavorful - which makes it very drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 12 oz bottle an orange hue with a good creamy off-white head and some lace. Aroma hinted of pumpernickel bread, perfume hops, minor ripe fruits, nutmeg, pepper, clove and your grandma’s pumpkin pie. Flavour had a lot of the same spice elements in it with a bit of malty sweetness like brown sugar. It’s complex and drinks like nectar. Mostly recommended for this time of season.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours clear orange with a large off-white head. Smells of pumpkin, hints of spices and a little sweetness. Taste is pumpkin with some subtle sweetness. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Dogfish Head Punkin Ale finishes with a kiss of spice and lingering pumpkin.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clear golden brown. Light pumpkin with heavy cinnamon and nutmeg. Not bad but nothing special. I wouldn't get this again. Bland overall.

Not bad. Crisp, light pumpkin taste at the end. Aftertaste slightly tarty, but tolerable.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours clear medium amber, thick creamy white finger plus head, thin lacing. Aroma pumpkin, toasted malt, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, slight spicy hop note, very faint soapy aroma. Taste pumpkin and toasted malt dominate, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, slight noble hop and that very faint soapy note found in nose even a little iodine, there may be an oxidation issue with this bottle. Mouthfeel thinner side of medium body, low carbonation, sweet finish. Overall I love this beer, I do not remember the flaws in it this bottle has, there must have been an issue, I’m rating it on a non-issue bottle.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A: Semi clear brown and orange. Foamy off-white head. Some lacing.
N : Pumpkin, nutmeg, all-spice, malt and biscuit. Hop presence includes peppercorn and pine. Not overly flavorful.
T: Mildly sweet and bitter.
M: Medium body with a bigger carbonation than expected.
O: For all the adjuncts, there sure isn’t much flavor to this one. Did they change the recipe when they changed the label? Dunno, bit it seemed better the first time I had it. A pale ale with squash.
