| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2009 Another thanks to daknole. I’ll never get tired of saying that. Nose smells almost like a real pumpkin pie. Flavor is a little sour, brew might be old though. Pretty sexy for a spice/herb/vegetable. Still one of the better pumpkin spice brews I’ve had. pineypower (1111), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2004 Pours out an interesting orange hued shade of brown. It has a very small, whispy head. The aroma is not overbearing like other pumpkins i"ve had. The taste is also just about right. It has a nice complex mix of flavors, with pumpkin being dominate followed by notes of brown sugar and sweet malts. There is a slight bitterness on the finish, hardly there even, but its there. Best Pumpkin I’ve had! Hophead22 (1105), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2004 a spiced brown ale with all the spices characterized by the fall season. The alcohol is just enough to warm the spirt as it goes down. Sickboy282 (1101), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2004 Pours an amber hue with a small slight/off-white head. Aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, roses???? Very similar aroma to anchors christmas brews. Flavors of pumkins, malt, spice.....As it warms it gets a little better, but nothing fantastic. This is the best spiced ale I have had yet. kenb (1101), Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2006 12 oz bottle via trade (thanks Ross) Small head that quickly dissappears.Hazy amber color. Spicey, bready floral punkin (sp?) aroma with some orange notes.
Medium bodied. Very very interesting flavor. Pretty much just like it smells. Punkin, orange citrus hops and bready. Smooth finish and the alcohol comes through at the end. The hoppy punkin/orange fizzy aftertaste is nice and lingers just the right amount of time.
Not a beer i would drink more than one of (at a time), but quite refreshing and very unique. One more thing, it is BALANCED. I have tried 2 Doghead brews to date, and they were both extrmely balanced between the malts and hops. I do appreciate that fact as so few big beers attain that nice balance.. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2007 ok, pours medium brown with light orange tint. medium carbonation and it sticks around and is somewhat astringent. ok now the story deepens...first pleasant taste of modestly hopped brown ale with pumpkin spice, then a tangy almost chalky star anise component that sorry, is semi revolting. suddenly a .... beautiful cognac finish creeps up and stays to bid you’re confusion a jesters farewell. you have done it again. aahhh but we now know that you are not just a very good brewer... but you can divulge a story in you’re art. oh yes toiler, we’ll keep watching...and buying!
