It has a robust aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices with some malt (I know it says this on the label). Same in the flavor with a malt background and a earthy hop bite in the finish. Medium in body. Not over done like some pumpkin ales haddon90 (1044), Alexandria, Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2004 Bottle: Pours a light copper color, almost like a red with a small head. This is by far the best brewed pumpkin ale I’ve ever tried, but not the best tasting one. Clearly the ingredients were top quality, and the beer was skillfully brewed. Even at 7% abv this beer masks the alcohol content excellently. I like that this beer tastes more genuine in terms of using real ingredients rather than just an extract mix. I also like the almost cilantro-like taste in the palate, combined with a bitterness not found in most pumpkin ales. Though overall there’s just something about this beer that makes me prefer it less than others in its style....a rare instance for me with DFH. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2004 Frothy off-white head. Slightly dark clear amber body. Nutmeg, pumpkin spice, with slight hops. Good flavor... a mix of hops, spices, and sweet malt. Hops are "pilsnery" and prick the tongue with slight astringency that is accompanied by spices. A bit warming in the belly. However, while I enjoy the flavor, after a while it gets a little overpowering. May be great with food, but probably not a session beer for me. jzzbassman (856), New Albany, Mississippi, USA

Well integrated into the flavor, with no weird allspice aftertaste I get with most of this style....very natural tasting. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Also very sweet. Deep orange, small orange/white head. Nice taste - brown ale maltiness with sweet pumpkin and hops. I actually found it way too sweet, as it doesn’t balance well at all (a delicate act with these pumpkin beers in my experience). Sticky sweet full fizzy mouthfeel. Not bad!
