Pours a beautiful copper orange with a thin off-white, foamy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is off pumpkin pie spices (nutmeg,q cinnamon, clove) and a vague sweetness offset by the citrusy presence of hops. Flavor is slightly sweet with pumpkin, nutmeg, and other spices taking the lead. However, these are countered a bit by hoppy bitterness. Mouthfeel is watery, and as one might expect. However, the carbonation may be a bit strong. In sum: A good pumpkin beer, but not quite the one I fell in love with several years ago. It could just be me, but too many hops mar the experience just a bit.

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Brownish copper color with a small off-white head. Pumpkin, clove, cinnamon & brown sugar on the nose. Medium-light body. Sweet on the palate with a slightly spiced sweet finish.

pours almost clear bright golden orange with a nice reviving light beige cap, leaving some lacing. very fruity maltiness - fresh ripened apricots, allspice, woodsy vanilla, brown sugar, astringent and bitter herbs, hint of chocolate and oranges, pepper. light carbonation, light to medium body - oily; semi-sweet grassy-spicy finish. spices are very well integrated. enjoyed!

Pours a clear orangish copper. Thin head and lacing. Pumpkin spice on the nose. An almost bitter sweet due to the malts and spices. Not really my thing, but I see why people like it.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a great pumpkin spice aroma, love it. Appearance- The beer is a murky golden orange with a fairly large white head. Taste-The flavor matches the aroma, great pumpkin taste. Palate- This is a medium bodied mildly carbonated beer. Overall- A really great pumpkin beer, will look for it next year.

An almost sour smell gives this otherwise good pumpkin brew a lower score than most in my favorite beer category.

This is a highly routed touted beer, and it is good. But I’ve had other pumpkin beers that are better. Pours an orange/amber. Aromas are pumpkin, sweet butter, some spice. Flavors are sweet pumpkin, a touch of fall spice. Boozy. Good stuff.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 08.23.14. A: There isn’t much to smell. Maybe nutmeg and clove. A: 2 finger head. See through gold body with lots of bubbles. T: Spice. P: I didn’t care about the mouthfeel. O: There was no pumpkin, cinnamon, or brown sugar here. It did have the signature Dogfish Head flavor that is in almost all of their beers. It was terrible, but I’m beginning to understand that I hate brown ales so this review is somewhat biased. Drain pour. Actually, I ’accidentally’ spilled it all over the outdoor table.

Dogfish Head punkin is still one of my favorite pumpkin’s on the market. However, the only reason it isn’t a 5, is that this year they changed something. The alcohol % was different and the flavor wasn’t there like it was before. I bought cases of this stuff from dog fish head brewery directly and brought them across the country to poor little Idaho where we are dogfish head deprived and it is a different beer from them. However, it is still one of the better ones out there.
