Poured deep red with tan, minimal head. Full bodied, heavy on the malt and caramel. Almost chocolatey finish. A very complex beer. Not sure how much I liked it but glad I tried it. Not for the feint of heart or palate.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a good size beige head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is malty and caramel with a slight hint of raisins. Medium sweet taste that hides the 8% ABV nicely. Goes down smoothly and a nice finish. I liked this one and would have it again and again. Good Job Dogfish Head.

12oz bottle. Pours clear dark brown with thin head. Aroma big caramel/sweet choco/coffee. Flavor driven by medium foamy body, sweet, choco and syrupy smooth. Sweetness mellows in a well behaved way to a smooth even aftertaste. Overall this is too sweet a beer for me/ but does not lack character.

Amberbruin, nauwelijks schuim. Moutig, licht gebrand. Bitterzoet. Waterig, weinig body. Niet speciaal in deze stijl.

A really interesting brew for one also so drinkable, this beverage will certainly skew your perception of other beers. The apparent plum raisin character isn't overbearing, but present in sufficient quantity. Pleasant mouthfeel, but the malts seem somewhat out of balance ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A - Pours a dark red amber. An off-white head sinks quickly S - Woody roasted malt, toasted toffee, earthy bark. T - Super sweet candy malt, dark fruit preserves, spice towards the middle. I keep getting NyQuil. The alcohol is there and doesn’t play well with the rest of the components. M - Low carbonation, thin watered down syrupy feel. I wanted to like this more than I did. It is an interesting beer but I couldn’t help thinking of NyQuil the whole time. The syrupy malt drowned out everything except the alcohol. Serving type: bottle 12-30-2010

Deep mahogany pour. Sweet aroma, definitely notice the raisins. Somewhat malty. A unique brew, but stands out as one of DFHs better beers ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This a very nice interpretation of a Belgian strong ale. Taste a rich mix of raisins and cherries. Sweet but not over the top. More sessionable than you’d think considering the high Abv. Cheers!

12 0z. Aroma is of dark fruit. Appearance is a murky brown. Taste is sweet. Dark fruit runs this taste profile. Palate is a sweet dry fruitiness. Overall, a decent beer. Weird, but decent. Off centered, but ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
