hazy brown, thick frothy offwhite head. vinous aroma, malt and brandy; also some dark candied fruit and oak. flavor is fairly sweet, like a sugary brandy, pretty raisiny, and the alcohol is apparent. great texture on this, full-bodied and sticky, mild carbonation. long bittersweet finish.

Wow, malty sweet background with a complex variety of subtle notes including raisin, licorice, and alcohol. Impressive Belgian ale that shows how its done without all those IBUs.

Mohagony pour with a tan head. Aroma of raisons, sugar, sweetness. Taste is as same as the aroma. Sweet malty aftertaste. Very nice overall. The flavors come out as it warms. Great lacing. Another fine DFH beer.

Bottle. This is it. Original. Complex. Balanced. Art. I was scared of trying any beer that said it was brewed with raisins. Boy I was surprised. This is a complex mohogany ale. Want something different? This is a masterpeice!

Different. Average fizzy head with spare lacing. Cloudy body and light particles. A reddish brown color. Tastes of molasses and coffee. Light hops flavors. Obviously some raisin flavors and maybe dome dates. Medium body with soft carbonation.

A copper pour with an egg-white head. I know raisins are marketed with this beer, but I don’t taste it. Near-full body with a less than remarkable hoppy finish. Somewhat roasty/malty taste. Above average brew.

Deep reddish brown in the glass. Some sweetness to the aroma and flavors with roasted malt character and a bit of fruit in there as well.
