Great from the first pour to the last drip. It’s color is like a gem - unique for a brew. taste is rich, sweet and full of yummy. Leaves the palate with a warm satisfied taste - like a bread pudding. Enjoy this - it’s different and satisfying

Can’t believe i haven’t put a rating in for this yet. Had it a handful of times now. I have a love/hate relationship with this beer, as can be expected. Oak soaked bourbon spanked raisins, which i could either use to sit back and pick apart, or choke down and get trashed. One way or another, i do enjoy this crazy thing. 7 tons of brown sugar that was burned with an atom bomb of alcohol. The crazier the better.

12 oz, 05 vintage. Clear, deep copper-brown with ruby highlights. Hard pour produces a small, fleeting ring of bubbles. Aroma is raisin-rum cake with cherry icing. Flavor is a well-blended mix of cherry, raisins, nutmeg, and spicy-sweet brandied fruit cake with orange-vanilla icing. Bits of oak on the barely-drying finish. Medium-heavy body is smooth, lightly syrupy, and chest-warming. I’m normally not a big fan of such high abv beers, but this one wears it well.

Sample from June 15, 2007 Beer Club Meeting. (Entering old ratings.) Sweet, raisin aroma... alcohol is apparent. Flavor is deep, dark, and more raisins... bitter at the finish. Strong, sweet, syrupy... brown sugar, perhaps, and a little fruity. Warm in the throat. Extra enjoyable. Love it!

06 12ozer. Wow, this was one hell of a beer. Pour is muddy brown with no head. Aromas of ALCOHOL, raisins, and thats about it. Flavor is much of the same. This is a slow sipper for sure. As it warmed it became much more enjoyable.

750mL bottle shared by Indra at his Strong Ale tasting, dated Dec 19, 2002, so 6 years old. It pours a dark copper/brown color. Aroma is dark raisin, brown sugar, and apparent alcohol. Comes off as a sweet alcohol brownie. Taste is so much alcohol and comes off as sherry. I did not get any age though, seems like it could still sit for years.

Pours a hazy copper color from the bottle with a trim beige head. Smells and tastes of brown sugar, raisins, and maple syrup. Leaves a bitter taste on the finish that I assume is associated with the beet sugar. Nice.

Bottle. Hazy red/brown color with absolutely no head. Aroma is malt, brown sugar, raisins. Flavor is raisins, brown sugar, molasses and alcohol. When it enters the mouth it is bitter. Afterwards it becomes sweet. Very good beer.
