Smell of chocolate covered raisins and taste is similar. Maybe too alcoholy but this is really very well done. robforbes (1085), Bremerton, Washington, USA

You won’t be bored while drinking it, but you will probably be half drunk by the end of your first bottle. That said, the taste is killer, the warmth is great, and the aroma is RAISON. This beer straight up has character.

Just opened one of these from September 2006, and the flavor is significantly improved. The age has given it a richer, darker character. The aroma is of dark fruit (yes, including raison) and chocolate. The flavor has smoothed out and features chocolate, overripe fruit, and brown sugar (and yes, raisons). Wonderful beer.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2008 Updated: Dec 11, 2008Rating #300. Bottle thanks to MrChopin. Bottled 03/15/07. Opaque dark ruddy brown with some darker brown sediment clumps. Hints of red and orange in the body and a surprising amount of off-white head for the ABV but it doesn’t last leaving only a ring around the edge of the snifter. Raisins and sweet maple syrup aroma and even when relatively cold it has only light alcohol esters in the aroma. Belgian yeasty notes and good sticky body. Very sweet, more maple syrup, molasses, dried plums, raisins, prunes, then a bit of warming alcohol in the finish. Very much like the D’Etre just amped up. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2008 12oz bottle. I tried this, it is sweet, it is powerful and pungent. Just not for me. I prefer the Raison D’etre or the 120min IPA BrianDorry55 (117), Spring Hill, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine and More in Tampa. Aroma is strong of alcohol, raisins, and mollasses. Pours a beautiful reddish-brown with barely any head. Flavor is of very sweet mollasses and pretty strong alcohol...honestly not as strong as I expected. Good Flavor. Leaves alot of alcohol on the palate...I feel like I just took a shot of vodka. Overall...These super-strong beers are not something I would drink every day...but it’s alway a fun experience and a great way to catch a nice warm buzz...I would say this is better and easier to drink than World Wide Stout but not as good as the 120 Minute Pale Ale. darn1207 (546), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
