I have it numerous tries throughout my tasting last night, but it just didn’t work for me. Pours a brownish color with no head. aroma is sweet and powerful. I get molasses, cane syrup, honey and dark dried fruits. Flavor is overpowered by too much sweetness and too much alcohol. I knew this was packing a punch and I think the alcohol is overboard. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark, cloudy amber with a two finger tan/brown head. Aroma of sweet malt and alcohol, along with molasses and caramel. Flavor was sweet, with molasses and dark fruit, with warming alcohol on the end. Very good, but the least of their very high gravity beers. flatmatt (222), Northville, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2008 12 oz bottle, bottled 03/15/07. The third in my tastings of DFH’s 15%+ beers. Pours brown amber, and a vigorous pour is able to elicit a coarse light tan head that dissolves rapidly. Definitely has some legs (ah, wine term, fabulous!). First aroma is the now-familiar extreme sweetness and alcohol blend characteristic of these high-gravity brews. Getting past that there may be some fruity (dark fruits and cherries) and caramel aromas, but it’s hard to distinguish them. Flavor is of course intensely sweet with some alcohol, but also has the raisin and grape notes of the base beer, especially in the finish, along with some caramel, which all complement the sweetness nicely. Not as great as World Wide Stout, but quite a nice beer. KnutAlbert (3115), Oslo, Norway

This is packed with flavour, but the raisins make this almost more like a fortified wine than a beer.
Molasses, raisins, warming alcohol, sherry and port tones.
For slow sipping with a good book. m4rest88 (216), Beverly Hills, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2008 Jeese, this beer is strong!
Aroma is of booze - hard alcohol, toffee, raisins, and other dark fruits.
Taste is vanilla like with some pistachios and alcohol.
Syrupy mouthfeel, with lively carbonation.
This beer is way to alcoholic for my tastes! austone (1036), Turku; Pori, Finland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2008 Bottle at EBF. Amber, no head. Sweet syrupy, alcoholic aroma, cloudberry liqueur. Flavor is cloud and raspberries, maple syrup, sweeeet, alcohol burn in the finish. Full bodied, sticky palate. Good as a liqueur, but difficult to rate as beer. sebletitje (1903), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful maroon or dark rust. Sweet to the nose and you can "smell the proof" as like in the Sam Adams Triple Bock. Taste of raisins and malt. Delicious I will buy again the next time I’m in the WI area.
