bierkoning (5980), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 18, 2008 From bottle @ EBF 2008. Loads of pineapple and red berries, malt and grapefruit in the aroma. Sugary, malty sweet flavor. Alcoholic, of course. Oily hops. Pineapple. Liquorish. Too much of the good things. trevor211 (499), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 17, 2008 Pours *thick*, a murky amber - like light molasses. Still manages a great head, though - feels much like the 120 min. Aroma is sweet malts, raisins and an alcohol burn. Flavor adds dark, overripe fruit (plums), a bit of oak, and even more powerful malts. Sticky, syrupy sweet. The alcohol really shows with this one, and while it certainly seems more intriguing than the 120 min, this one is still over-the-top. plovmand (1585), Helsinge, Denmark Sep 17, 2008 Bottle at EBF. Brown colour with a small creamy head. Powerfull aroma of berries, overripe fruit and alcohol. Medium body. Very rich flavour of dark fruits like raisins and prunes. The alcohol gives this beer lots of warmth and its the last thing you will experience from each sip. EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA Sep 16, 2008 Dark carmel color with a hint of red. Aroma of dark fruit, especially prunes. molasses and alcohol. Taste is surprisingly complex with a bright sweetness of dates, and a dryish finish, besides the dark, overripe fruit and malt flavor. The alcohol just gives a nice warmth. One worth buying again to serve friends. stefanje (933), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Sep 15, 2008 12 oz bottle from a trade with Solan. Pours a dark amber color with zero head. Aroma of sweet dark fruits and alcohol. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth and malty syrupy with soft carbonation. The finish is long with plenty of lingering prunes. Overall: A a very rich extreme concoction. Recommended try. uhre (339), Denmark Sep 15, 2008 Aroma of prunes and alcohol. Deep red with no head. Flavor is full of dark fruit and of course a bit of alcohol. Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Sep 15, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured deep red/brown with a beige head. Aroma of heavy sugar, wine, caramel. Taste is malty, with plenty of sweetness, fruit, and light booze. Finish is warming. Carbonation is mild. ekstedt (2407), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 14, 2008 From a bottle at EBF 2008. Clear copper red with medium beige head. Malty, slightly sugary, with some piney hops, and alcohol. Heavy body, soft carbonation. Well balanced.
