bottle from midway mart in denton tx. this poured a caramel like color with some red in it. aroma strong with raisons, dark fruits, and liqourice. flavor is smooth for the amount of alcohol in this. had dark fruits, black liqourice, and alcohol. this gives you the warm feeling you would get from a shot of whiskey. very good stuff!!

(Bottled) Slightly hazy red-amber with a small head. Strongly caramel-grainy-sweet-malty aroma with some alcohol. Intensely grainy, pretty burning-alcoholic, strongly hoppy flavor with dried fruitiness and maple syrup. Quite full body with sticky sweetness and massive alcohol burn. A big beer, sure, but seriously: who wants to drink even a small bottle of this? To be shared and sampled once in a lifetime, but nothing more.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a cloudy red/brown with beige head. Aroma of strong raison/dark fruit. Flavor is of strong dark fruit & alcohol. Palate is full body, medium carbonation....Overall, clears the sinuses and warms you up....good dessert beer.

Bottle from Crown #15 in Fishers, IN. Pours a clear reddish-brown with only a tiny ring of beige bubbles that diminish to sa slick port-like appearance. The nose is a sweet, woody, vinous raisin hard candy, and light alcohol. Medium to FB & oily with a "warm" sweet finish. Like a sweet port, warm & candilike. One to share with a buddy, but it’s quite good.

Alright folks, this one was a doosie, and quite a pricey bar-price haha. It poured a very hazy, dark brown and smelled strongly of raison and perhaps some brown sugar. The taste was bomb of malt and raison. It was super strong but the alcohol didn’t seem too apparent while drinking, but I definitely felt that puppy. It was really drinkable for such a high ABV, but pretty expensive to have at the bar again--will just have to pick up from the store.

Pours a very cloudy brown, thin foam -- not nearly the foam from the regular D’ Etre. Aroma of alcohol. Taste of alcohol. Seriously, this is too much. The regular D’Etre is much better. Update: Had it again 3/28/09, like it better this time. Taste is of a very strong barleywine. Still a little too strong, alcohol-wise, though.

Bottle. Pours hazy red with a yellow head. Strong aroma, a bit sweet, with raisin and a bit of booze. Flavor is also sweet and fruity, with raisin, brown sugar and again, just a bit of booze. Very easy to drink for 18.5% ABV.
